Ok, so the game keeps going even though someone who is not in play enters the field to grab the bat. Wtf

The majority, if not all baseball fields do not have the running lane unless you’re on a high school field. It typically gives a coach, a half argument are you only the points that benefit his team or not understanding under certain circumstances that’s not what happens. You certainly don’t have to be smart to be a coach just be willing to do it

I learned years ago that if you teach a young kid the proper way to play any game they can do it. Age is not really the problem. It is the coach does not believe in the player.

Foul ball..dead ball.. no outs..strike if less than two. The batter was in the box and did not intentionally interfer.

I use a 24 inch strike zone for Little league. I like when games go quick. No one complains about my zone because it’s consistent for both teams

“For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes when he received honor and glory from God the Father. The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.” We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.” 2 Peter 1:16-18 NLT

Coaches used to give signs to mlb players back in the earliest days. It didn't work. I do realize the coaches know better than the youth players, but making the catchers rely on coaches won't develop them, it will make them a momma's boy.
@MJHBaseball18 күн бұрын
One way they learn is by getting signs from a coach early on and having a conversation with the catcher and pitcher. By the time they were on the big full size field, the catcher almost always called pitches. The High School varsity coach had them called from the dugout though. I didn't like it, but I was just the parent at that point.

Interference by the runner, Interference is done by offense except by the catcher. Little League rule 7.08 (a)(3) Any runner is out when the runner dosent slide or attempt to get around a fielder who has the ball and is waiting to make a tag

Another example of the announcers not fully understanding the rule. They seem surprised that the protection a fielder gets for fielding a batted ball, was not extended to the shortstop. The second baseman is clearly closer to, and in the act of, fielding the ball. The shortstop as a secondary fielder approaching the play, is not in the act of fielding the ball and can not be given the protection against runner interference. Therefore, he is a fielder without possession of the ball, and not fielding a batted ball, who is impeding the progress of the runner.

In a situation with a tight strikezone. Have your pitchers come inside a lot. If you want to just walk… you may earn it.

I’m a high school & little league umpire. In the scenario with obstruction to third. Yes R2 should’ve been safe at third. The defense has the right of way when fielding a ball, but in this case the SS obstructed R2 but only 2B has the right of way. The few steps R2 lost could’ve cost a different path the back needed to be thrown. In this case, there was no runner and the lane was wide open.

1st play---I don't have CI, because he let the ball cross the plate and the batter didn't swing. I see the argument for it, but both feet were in the box at T.o.P. and ball was received behind the plate. 2nd play--I have him out at home and the batter still batting because the batter cleared this time (didn't in 1st play but still didn't interfere). 3rd play---If it was lopsided, I'm not arguing, but as an ump the integrity of the game should have him safe. LLWS play---just normal LLWS umpiring. They are the worst and need to get good, paid umpires.
@donsheffler2 ай бұрын
The announcer has everything confused. On the replay he was referring to possible "obstruction by the runner" (which doesn't exist. It would be interference by the runner), and then he says the umps called "interference" and that the runner from third *scores* and the offense is really happy. So really, the ump called "obstruction" of the runner, by the shortstop.

I’m constantly screaming at LL umpires on TV for the ridiculously wide strike zone. If that’s what these parents are used to, no wonder they’re mad. They think 8 inches off the plate is getting punched out every time. Props to this ump. You never have to guess where the zone is.

The second example is funny because the catcher tagged the batter/runner, as he should have, but with an empty glove while holding the ball in his other hand. Ump signaled out anyway.

Yes, the rule is actually the "uncaught third strike" rule. So it can be literally dropped, or caught on a bounce. Same as an uncaught fly ball.

CORRECT call no matter what the situation is. Blame the coach NOT the Umpire making the correct call.
