You can see why Nixon et al feared psychedelics. Terence was a very intelligent man. Sadly, he said a lot of stupid things. This effeminised, communitarian utopia he describes is utterly ridiculous. I see no contradiction between taking psilocybin & living a good life with one wife, looking after my children, working hard, doing well by the earth - whilst not falling into Thunberg-esque neurotic, psychotic extremism. Sadly Terence fell into the common trap for intellectuals of stepping out of his area of expertise, & pontificating on areas in which he was very limited.

This man said something like, 'If you're going to take psychedelics, the first place to go is the library.' That's the first place lawmakers should go when they make drug laws. But none do.

What an extraordinary human being, his loss is so deeply felt. Interesting that psylocibin and ketamine are now effective, legal modes of treatment for depression. He didn't see that coming, although no doubt played a huge role in this eventuality

33:13 - Morning Glory 108:26 - I'm 70 years old and have done all these things without the sacred plants. I have given birth naturally three times, and I have been in "the other" through mapping my dreamscape. And while I now use mushrooms and marijuana and enjoy both immensely, I am happy I did it using the Innate Seeking of the Divine within each of us first.

why did the ego arise? no need to become a biologist for this Terence. The universe is bound for novelty and thus self examination and criticque. Psychedelics are just sweetening the pill.

psychedelics dissolve ego, ego is what stands between the universal unifying force of love, which is that prosperity in the light is good for all, and good for thee, we are being drawn into the love of light and the light of love its not the kind of love that can be easily discerned or admitted into like modern christianity its radical love with a critical mind behnid it
@notasuperspy3 ай бұрын
@@dnbjedi the ego is a consequence of personage and we are the inherent atomic metric of consciousness in the universe, whether it is homo sapien or homo neanderthalis or some unknown alien species, the unit of the brain and of the individual will always exist until everything cognitive becomes compartmentalized and eventually the hyper-collective intelligence can be contributed towards and for single direction of movement to be collectively and purely cognitively be selected upon. none of this must be done biologically it must be done cognitively and intellectually.

The only time i ever tried shrooms: My vision got all wonky. Looked like the world was sloshing around like on water. My chest felt cold in its center. I started feeling like i was having intense heart palpitations. (Though i checked my pulse and it was perfectly steady and normal.) I thought it was about to have a heart attack or something. Tried marijuana edibles about 2 years later. Same result. Though this time i was driving. If that's the psychedelic experience, I want no fvcking part of it. That was a HORRIBLE experience that i have 0 interest in ever trying again.
