"Talk by ethnobotanist, ecologist, and author Terence McKenna. He asks the fundamental question concerning natural hallucinogens: is it an accident of nature that certain plants and mushrooms can alter human awareness in profound ways. He argues that man and hallucinogenic plants and mushrooms have co-evolved. These botanicals provid a way for people to experience their spiritual nature, and throughout history have been used by shamans whose function is to enter altered states in order to perceive the spiritual causes behind ordinary reality."

His brother Dennis McKenna is continuing their work - I met him last year on February 13th, 2020 and he gave me his card to get in touch with him and take a trip down to Costa Rica where he does Ayahuasca ceremonies with the local tribal shamans there... Dennis promised to make me an EXTRA STRONG 💪 BREW, so I could have the breakthrough experience with the entities on either side of me - and then this fucking global pandemic happened...

So true. Its not a war on drugs, its a war to prevent expanding consciousness. So glad that where I live, mushrooms are readily available from cannabis dispensaries, allowing me to microdose. Essentially decriminalization. I wish TM were here to see it. It's a results of his life's work.

Mushrooms are powerful medicine and are no joke. I ate 3.5 grams, had a wacky and fun visual experience for an hour or so, and then the challenging trip began. Once it was over I was a figurative Scrooge running through the streets of Victorian London at the conclusion of "A Christmas Carol," so desperate was I to make up for my short comings. Mushrooms mentally purge you, and once you've had a good trip all the way through you'll know, for the time-being at least, that you are doing a good job at life.

Maybe because it's a combination of how he says it and that it literally goes and so forth and so on... it's never ending. And if anyone tries to tell me they get what never ending means, even with DMT trips under their belt, I know they do not. It's something that in a way makes everything in reality funny and non-serious.

The prob I believe is that theoretical science only exists in the realm of Physics (some chemistry, and psychology - if one would count that as a real science), because mathematic/computers can prove theories that are not yet realised, and therefore "we" (society) can except them, because we trust in pure logic. We don't trust the human mind. No not at all. That is another problem. Now, theoretical Biology - its grand umbrella - where Terrance would sit under, is either lacking people or minds like him, or they are too scared to speak up out of fear of being ostracised. There is also the problem of money and financing. No one if going to fund studies unless there is a tangible outcome and result. The capitalistic model for life is also part of the problem. These kinds of minds do not fit into that.

This particular lecture almost made me cry. Almost like his words bring about a notch less than complete break through to what the spirit itself tries to get off it's chest throughout the time that man has been aggressive, and animalistic toward each other. Also, the shrooms I ate before listening to this, just pushes the emotions of self to the forefront of the conscious mind. Peace be with everyone who listens to these lectures, hoping to gain truth from beyond the veil of what man has been regurgitating as such based off man's own experience, while not traveling from beyond the realm of man, being afraid of having to possibly change its archaic perception of morality.

Mushroom are not all about visuals, trips or telepathic talking, but if that happens then great. Shrooms are about one thing only, healing of the spirit/soul. Know that everything that happens to you comes from a necessary place. Don't fight it. But don't let it over take you. Merge with it. Go with it. Enjoy it. Learn from it. Noting is real. McKenna possessed what makes us all so very human. He was a searcher. He asked why, he needed to know why. It is this that makes us all so very human. At my heart I have many desires and needs, but most of all, I think I can honestly say that I want to know as many men before me wanted to, I want to know why, and science by it’s own nature is limited, this I know for sure. I don’t think we necessarily need psychedelics necessarily to attain this, as this man believed also. He just wasn’t hardlined against psychedelics as a way of searching. You really can’t be a true searcher unless you’re hardlined against anything except evil, you can’t lose yourself in your search. - my own opinion

See, true genius in the modern world is about being the idea connector. We actually need people like Einstein and Terrence McKenna . I put them in the same sentence because they share the same qualities in which made them both generate genius. They read and read and connect all the great ideas together to visualise abstract concepts. I believe that’ is what genius is.

I love this man, he and Watts saved my life, and I find it comforting somehow that the day he was born (16th of Nov.) is the same day Alan Watts died. "First world" people often look down on what we call "third world people", as if they are lesser people and we (1st world people) are more evolved somehow. I love to travel and had the honor to meet quite a lot of different people and what stood out for me is that when I approach a person on the street in a "1st world country" they look at me with distrust and a look of "what do you want from me". But when I meet a person in a 3rd world country I get a smile, and often one of the 1st things they want to do is give me food and introduce me to their families (I`m not talking about people who live in poverty because some greedy people exploit them). To me this says that they are happier people, and then I question myself; "Who are the 3rd world people, they...or the people in 1st world countries ?" Sometime it looks as if evolution is going backwards in "the west". I thank you for this beautiful upload...and I wish everybody a healthy, happy, and magical life 🙏🍄🌎☮

Psilocybin was my introduction to psychedelics. Laying down in grass staring up at a dark night, saw all stars connect like a web, then I was astonished not by the visual, yet by the thought that followed, All is connected, not separate from God, we exist within our own imagination. God being the whole of our consciousness was depressed by its solitary; hence, fragmented into several bits of consciousness to enjoy experience of coming back together again. The ultimate Humpty Dumpty tale.

Yeah the endless loop… you can only dip your toes in, and you can bring back less than wet toes from it. Like Terrance said in a metaphor, “Our brain is the dipstick, stuck into the crank case of the mind” So that you can dive in a try to find information (oil level) but all you are is a dipstick, and the interior workings of the engine will always be a mystery, and all you can take back with you is the notion that “yup the oil level is good/bad” So basically you can only see a tiny portion of what actually is happening, and beyond that you can only see a tiny portion of what actually applies to you. And even beyond that, we have to describe the rest it in metaphors relating to engines😂 and other things that are easily understandable. It is a complete loop. We can experience infinity but can only bring back the finite, which can only be communicated using metaphors which implicate infinity. Which cannot be understood. So it’s like we can gain and understanding of that which is ineffable and cannot be explained or understood, and through understanding the unknown, we know that the unknown is unable to be understood The loop requires individual perspective to give it meaning. And even then meaning in subjective. It all just dissolves in your hands like sand… the more you understand the less you understand. Like this “I KNOW, that the unknown is unknowable” so what do you really know? At this point what can even be known? You already know that the unknown is unknowable but that creates the question, “what do I even know?” And the resounding answer is that you know nothing. You can run around in circles and circles about trying to know what cannot be known but in my mind, the answers is that nothing is known, nothing is understood, and before us stand the “reality” of life. Which is that nobody knows anything. Nothing can ever be known. Things can be experienced and felt but their “mechanism” the reason for their behavior, the reason for why things are the way they are, cannot be known. Reality, true reality is beyond our capabilities of understanding. This is why we find ourselves in thought loops. “I know that I don’t know that I know that I don’t know that I know that I don’t know” Nobody knows anything. No intelligent person CAN k n o w Anything. Damn look at me transcending reality The smarter the person, the more the subject of the unknown looms above their head. Only simple people “know” things I must be Jesus or sumn cuz I just had a revaluation, and a revelation. The more you know, the more you realize you don’t know What the fuck is that shit reality is a sadistic and extremely dark humorous bastard LOL This all brings me to The paradox of knowing

WOW! Thank you so much. This talk was outstanding and quite confronting! Perhaps together we can come up with some way to hack into, and then play this very tour over every television station and radio frequency on the planet at the same time! Just joking, but this has really inspired me to do SOMETHING. At this point, I have absolutely no idea what, however I am going to sit on this. Does anybody have any thoughts? I think it's time we really came together and created one single, and very large online community in an attempt to speed up the spreading and acceptance of this type of necessary information about our harsh reality. Peace.

The chances of any of us having true original thoughts are extremely slim. We like to believe our thoughts are original but the chances that your thoughts have been through the mind of someone else before are very high. This shows how connected we are to each other and to the universal consciousness. We download information from our ancestors and those around us and then spread it as our own thoughts to carry on the spread of universal knowledge. I had a really interesting conversation with a buddy of mine about how you could calculate the chances of having a completely original thought. Unfortunately we couldn’t come up with an equation but then again we did smoke a large doobie beforehand. Cheers

The challenge in thinking the mushroom is a kind of ''sentient being'' is that it doesn't care if the host (you) wind up in prison or the hospital or dead. Mushrooms feast on rotting carbon based life forms. "It'' is using the human being to become an ambulatory fungus.

“We now are the inheritors of a planet that is dying under anesthesia. Our entire cultural crisis is predicated on the fact that we cannot feel or connect with the consequences of our history. That we have behaved very badly(we of the high tech societies), we have trashed gender relationships, we have trashed aboriginal societies, we have cut down the rainforests, we have robbed our own children of a future as rich as a future that we expect ourselves to enjoy. There isn’t even a name for this sin, where you destroy the opportunity of your own children, I mean no society has been that perverse. And we’re doing it under a massive infusion of alcohol laced with monotheistic moral propaganda.” - Terence McKenna
@newcures7813
@newcures7813 2 жыл бұрын
McKenna is missing the mark a bit around ~1:11:30. The resource-abuse problem is not because of the "citizens" of high tech societies as much as it is the producers of the high tech. The idea of wealthy whites using more resources than tribal indigenous people is 100% true, but there's a deeper layer to the onion... The consumption is unnaturally high because there is a driving, underlying factor and that is the use of sophisticated marketing and advertising tactics that employ the use of behavioral psychology and neurolinguistic programming. Those wealthy whites who are over-consuming have been targeted more, induced into wanting and buying things they otherwise would, or at least might, not. The artificial demand is like a spell cast upon the citizenry by the marketing "wizards" who work for companies that have as their business plan the over-consumption of resources, and that first over-consume - then unload these resources at a profit. This is akin to how folks in 2022 are acting artificially dumber than they really are because of the media and the shunting/blocking of information. Yes, each of us is kind of dumb, but it's not hard to fathom how a lot of our ignorance isn't natural, but is rather, the result of our exposure to lies, PR manipulations, and our inheritance of bad "programs". Whether induced-consumption or induced-stupidity, the blame lies less on the end consumers of any demographic who are duped by the magician's sleight-of-hand than on the demographic of high tech pushers using what we might call "wizardry". Why else would they use such tactics? They know they can get way more folks buy their pillaged resources in the form or whatever products, than they would without using such tricky tactics. Conscious manipulators drive the very thing they deem to be the over-population problem, and then blame over-population - again in an unconscious attempt to hide their own conscious lies, manipulations, and self-consumption. "Did you eat ALL the cookies in the cookie jar?" - "No, it was my brother and sister." In truth, they had taken ALL the cookies to school, eaten a bunch of them, and sold the rest as though they were the most delicious and nutritious vegetables on the planet. And now it's the "vegetable-eaters" fault.

I dont like that he keeps pushing that you should keep taking those drugs. Once the drug shows you the unity of creation you have become initiated into the mysteries you can put the drugs down, you got the message hang up the phone. That is exactly what the Buddha meant when he said after you cross the river let the raft go.

Yes, but as a "master" seeker he was always going to keep on searching and go the full hog. So we can follow a clear path already forged. Weirdly, I didn't feel like he was pushing anything except for humanity to wake up. It is possible that your own psyche, your own shadow, is pushing you to do shroms, not Terrance. That's a form of projection. Remember everything is "thought", and when you take it down to that, there is no where else to go but within.

Anyone else smoked some funny stuff or ate some weird fast foods filled with transmutational chemicals and sometimes even work psychedelicly? Once I drew a very powerful symbol faster than the speed of light. Something that amplified informational processing, into a magical flow that was dubbed 'torpedo sigil' or perhaps, as time will tell, a true harpoon. I am genuinely curious by other people's experiences related to the modern drugs, substances or chemicals, depending on what we talk about. As of late, certain foods stimulate my clarity and open up weird, new possible spirirual adventures. It can be terrifying and dreddful, as well as beautiful and magnificent

oh, but what if Terence McKenna really saved the world, by dying in the one that ended in 2012; and through some weird spirit-mojo pact, that he worked-out with the multi- verse, we're all able to go on existing in a version of reality where the world didn't end.. that scenario would kind of make him seem a bit jesus-ish..

Okay, I guess. If youre being imaginative, then i'll humor you - That would all have to depend on what it was he'd died in the name of.; what he'd died FOR. You know? Because jesus = salvation...died for sins...all that, (according to christians). So there wound need to be some profound purpose for his death, you know? You cant say he just up and died in 2012 in a parallel universe, and spiritually transcended the "multiverse," and thus, humans could go on to live eternally in a world without death...and everything you said....
