I had bilateral hips done in Oct 2023, today, July 2024, I don’t even think about them any more…total success.
@derekwhite782912 күн бұрын
I had this surgery in March of 2021. I did about 14 months of rehab, then later in March 2023 I began to have hip pain. They told me that the way I had been walking after my knee surgery ruined my hip. Now in July 2024 at age 37 I just had a hip replacement. My meniscus has also lost cartilage due to the fact I had minimal quad muscles for so long after surgery, putting more pressure on my knee. My quad was basically gone after the osteotomy. I would recommend anyone to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion before having this surgery done.

Going in on Monday to get my collarbone fixed. 4th break on the same left side. Crazy. Never fixed it in the past. The distal end looks like a stack of bone. CT shows good bone for screw purchase. Maybe my bike racing days are over. Hope I can get back on the trainer though ASAP. Any thoughts on the ability to just spin my legs on a trainer?

If labrum is too tight after repair, can you stretch to gain normal range of motion or that's it and you simply need to live with it?

I'm at the point now where I am having difficulty walking. I had a microdiscectomy, and I was told that if the bulged disc returns, I would have to have fusion surgery. I'm afraid. That's what's stopping me.

What do surgeons do for high anxiety patients with panic disorders specific to medical procedures? I pass out giving blood and vomited after my MRA. I might need this and I’m wondering do doctors give Ativan to patients? I’m scared of my reaction.

Is there any chance of shoulder tilting? Or any swelling on the surgery part where the plates are installed?
@vicomtedelomagne3 ай бұрын
The Royal London Hospital is not a National Scoliosis Hospital - this surgery is being performed by Prof. Arun Ranganathan. He is not a Professor as you or I would understand. He has no Academic position within the UK. The patients on this program both became infected, both required further surgery to remove the metal instrumentation, and one of them went into septic shock and nearly died. The program was ill advised, and the patients should have gone elsewhere for there surgery. Dr Ranganathan should not be performing this operation at the Royal London. He is not good enough.

@alinoorani7223 - Thanks for the explanation, doctor. I am having a SLAP on my right shoulder for the past 5 years. Got occasional pain after workout sessions that included pushups. Avoiding pushups and similar exercises helped all this while. Now, I am experiencing severe shoulder blade pain and neck pain and stiffness even after light hand movements (eg: swinging for bowling even when movement is NOT aggressive). Is this normal, and maybe an indication to get the surgery done ASAP? I would love to hear your thoughts on this! Cheers

Hi . You symptoms not typical of SLAP. Shoulder blade, neck issues suggest other pathology. Have your send checked clinically rather than rely on mri . Ali noorani

Im on my day11 of high tibial ostetomy (open wedge) , i did simultaneous bilateral HTO, recent studies allow immediate full weight bearing after surgery if pain allows, i couldnot stand on my leg using crutches for a total of 8 days, i suspected this, i decised not to eat to avoid bowel motion, so i kept dringking milk with the white of egg everyday with plenty of water and one tab 2000IU of vit D, because recent studies insist that low vitD level before surgery affects the result markedly, i had no bowel motion for 8 days, i didnt take NSAID because blocks healing, i also avoided any kins of sleep pills melatonin, diazepam and lorazepam etc because all of them block viT D pathway and delay bone healing or even causes nonunion, i had severe pain for my left side on the first till 8 days because of overcorrection, my right leg was good and the pain was moderate, i used fentanyl patch and replaced it every 3 days, i used no more than 3 patches because of risk of withdrawal symptoms, i used paracetol bottle with acupan IV injection mixed together it was very great releiving pain, they both worked synergistically with the fentanyl patch on my belly, all these pain killers for 9 days then i stopped taking pain killers, i started to stand on my both legs at once using partial weight bearing using crutches, so i decided to have good meal as i started to go to toilet, eating only white of egg was important to have enough peotein for wound healing, drinking the milk for calicium, viT D for for evething for wound and bone healing and boosting immunity, i faced bilteral leg swelling and best managed with icepacks, once swelling subsided i tried to keep my legs warm as possible as it help reduce the dull aching pain of your broken bones. I have alot of knowledge regarding this operation anyone interested can ask me, i will share my experience with you the remainig days .

@jasonwalker81324 ай бұрын
@@oogabooga9939 still on crutches. The shin of my leg is swollen, edema is what I've been told but nothing to worry about I have no pain in my leg but a pain in the left and right side of my knee that just does not won't to go away . Physio told me we are looking at 60 to 70 percent of the knee being better but 16weeks down the line its definitely 100 percent worse.

Same here I wrecked my snowmobile, I share you pain literally. My surgery was 12/18. Plate and screws for me. I wore a cast for about 10 days got it off straightened my arm 30 degrees and fainted luckily I told my wife and she kept me from falling out of the chair. The doctor told me to move my elbow a bit but basically said see ya in a couple weeks which is Wednesday. but gosh dang it’s painful unless i have pills or lay in the bed half the day.
