Folks, this is not the original All Ribbon 4 bass driver, for me the whole test makes no sense!!

I always found this speaker sterile and bright in the highs. the new xover parts only exacerbates the problem. However the sound in the mids and bass is wonderful. Seems to me the tweeter (a .75 inch plastic dome) is the weak link. I think a lovely soft dome from Audax, Seas or Peerless would improve the speaker immensely. Good metal domes are very expensive, cheap ones are unlistenable.

Clarity in the all important mids is superior on the Rogers.

Bought the same last week but found out that one channel is only working after 10-15 minutes like it needs to warm up .. Someone has an idea what it can be? It's not wiring and it's with any device, phono, CD, ... Thanks. Nice player this one and very nice sound!

Sorry to contradict previous reviews but these really are the worst speakers money can buy. Components are of very low quality. The woofer has a foam suspension which desintegrates while you're looking at it!! I have TWO pair of them. After a few years the foam simply PULVERIZES. It happened to all 4 speakers! They may sound OK the first few months but then the desintegration process becomes audible. The woofer doesn't perform anymore as it should and finally the diaphragm simply separates from the suspension. Apart from that, the tweeter is a joke. I think they got it from a toy factory. The piece of dampening material inside the box is a laugh. Then you have the cross-over filter. It is the simplest of the simplest high / low pass filter you can imagine. Here also, everything is done to cut costs. The speakers are made in China but it is the worst quality China has to offer.

I got mine for free in the mid 90's. Both transformer and power caps were bad. Replaced both and apart for some pots and buttons needing cleaning it has been working flawlessly and is still in daily use. Good allrounder.

Excellent ... well done ... I think it's a realistic comparison ... KRK sounds more clearly and Crystal clear, while JBL sounds more dumper, dull, muffled, hollow and basal weighty, ... I've the two Chassis and Boxes directly compared ... the best Mix ist the two Pair Boxes playing together ...

The filter looks very unsophisticated, the older silver version has a way more complicated filter. Im curious of the difference in sound quality.
