My spouse and I sleep in separate beds ..he had back surgery years ago and afterwards had to sleep as still as possible .. so we started the practice then .. I love having my own bed !

Musicians are biblically recognized, and they have their established protocols. Music isn't always frivolous, and actually good music is almost never.

Feelings arise to point us to what needs attending. Without feelings, we can't practice and grow. It's the emoting (emotions in action) that requires tempering; intervention. When people are so far gone that they're unaware of their own unhealthy emotions then its up to communities to support and offer suggestions and safety. To practice their own humanity.

This is so hard to do. Understanding the thought in the moment which then allows us to have control over unwanted emotion.

The feelings(emotion) come second. Catch the thought and you master your emotion

Very sensible advice - as usual! Thank you, Venerable. People sometimes also need space from phone and internet contact with certain family members. This is important too.

But I thought the body feels 1st?
@RobinaCourtinYouTube8 күн бұрын
According to the Buddhist view of the mind, which is way more subtle than the neuroscientific views, our emotions, which are really when the body is involved, are actually rooted in way-deep-down thoughts, and it’s only when we start to really learn good mindfulness meditation that we notice this. So then we can grab those subtle thoughts, those stories in our head, and then change them before they hit the body.

Totally agree. We learnt to be the people we are through learning from our decisions and mistakes so we should try to allow our children to do the same… over protectiveness can maybe hinder growth in others…?
