I wanted a w800 and they sold the one I wanted so I was looking for a Sportster S but I’m afraid of the reliability, and just looking through bikes came across this, and well here I am. This bike looks great and it’s loaded with features.

had 3 harleys 1200 sportster, fatbob, heritage when i bought triumph america '17 model in NZ then moved to Australia bought a 2011 speedmaster both bikes are a perfect fit & quite torquey so I'm thinking of buying a brand new speedmaster or T120 so i can stick with it forever..about the harleys the sportster is the best & reliable excactly the same handling characterisic as the 2011speedmaster

I opted for the T100 and the reason was the more retro style, reminiscent of the first Bonnies, including the dual clock and this particular colour scheme, which was the one used on the first 1959 Bonneville and reissued in 650 units for the 50th anniversary and again in summer 2022 when I bought the bike.

@benattwiggcycles 12 күн бұрын
@@neov0211 hello! Are you referring to engine heat? If so, you barely notice much engine heat from these bikes. They’re liquid cooled and overall I never felt that my Speedmaster put out an abundance of heat. Overall very comfortable.

@benattwiggcycles 12 күн бұрын
@@T4ToWeRz I would test ride one and see why you think my friend! Corbin makes extended reach seats that can push you back away from the pegs which will result in allowing your legs to stretch out a little bit. I’m 6’2 and I loved the bike. I also added the Triumph Ape Hangers to my personal Speedmaster and that really helped.

I just bought one and Im finding it a bit terrifying. That is because my previous bike was 40 years ago and only a 175cc. Sure I could have got the 400 but people said its not big enough. I trust that I will get used to it and I did want something a bit extra without being too much. I wasn't keen on getting a small bike after being blown around and not able to keep up with traffic so I think I made the right decision.

I've put 6000 miles on my 2020 T120 and am seeing 50mpg as indicated by the bike's computer. If I try, I can get as much as an indicated 55mpg, but I like to twist that throttle. The bike does have a cat delete, but other than that it's stock with the optional Vance & Hines exhaust. 80mph on the interstate gives me an instantaneous ~60mpg with the cruise control set. I'm seeing 180-200 miles per tank, though I fill up at about 150 miles.

@@GaryShellberg oh trust me I’m not questioning anything haha I KNOW very well you can do long distance on anything. But take it from someone who’s in sales and talks to riders of all ages all day long….. especially nowadays, “long distance riding” on a 350cc motorcycle isn’t appealing to most buyers. I know folks that are taking their 150cc scooters on 2000+ miles trips and honestly to you and me, that sounds like fun…but the larger percentage of buyers nowadays want cruise control, 6 gears, comfy seating, etc. you get it.

I long ride my T100 and questioned do I need a t120. Given 80% of my riding is inner city commuting to the office 30miles round trip I’m fine with my T100. Where I would like the t120 is for the 6th gear if I were to cruise at 80mph for sustained time else the t100 is just fine and mostly I stay of the interstates anyway where possible so I can enjoy the ride and scenery

I have a T100 gold line and love it great bike on A and B roads it averages around 76 mpg Howe bet on a longer trip I got 81 mpg I don’t drive it fast It’s a great bike for older riders and those comming down from heavier bikes to keep riding. As a new bike I added cruise and rack plus other minor extras my advice to any potential buyers is to take both out back to back on a test ride

@@alangoffin3599 Good advice and exactly what we did in 2021. We selected the T100 and really liked it. For financial reasons we had to let it go last year but regretted it. This year we looked to replace it but couldn't afford to buy new. Our current 2017 T120 came up at a T100 price though (and is in immaculate condition) so this time we chose that instead.

my T120 was a demo bike at the triumph dealer for 2 years with 10.000 km. i have it since 2 month and 4.000 km in the black forest and rhine plain in south germany. after a few days the average went down from 4,9 l/100 km to 4,7 l/100 km. my speed between the villages is 100/120/140 km/h were possible but not legal and sometimes i cruise slowly. i live in the rhine plain and work in the black forest, 25% uphill and 25% downhill and 50% plain. with countersteering and leaning the T120 goes around every corner easily.

Extra weight comes from the extra gear and front disc, the discs on the T120 are also solid rather than floating so each disc is heavier on the T120, plus the rear exhaust pipes are longer on the T120, these bikes don't feel heavy, T120 feels a fair bit stronger to me, but there's a big jump in price from the T100, I'd love a T100 in my garage to go along with my T120
