Why do you want to increase the slow twitch fibers?
@NattyDaddyTyson12 күн бұрын
@@SocialSketch what do you mean brother?
@SocialSketch12 күн бұрын
@@NattyDaddyTyson Research shows the type of training you do can influence the makeup of your muscles. When you do high-rep, endurance exercise, it tends to increase your slow-twitch muscle fibers. They are smaller and can work longer. They are also slower, like their name. So for something like punching or having larger muscles, you would want to increase your fast-twitch fibers.
@NattyDaddyTyson12 күн бұрын

@@NattyDaddyTyson You're basically working to speedrun damaging your articulations. :/ I always feel a little bad when I see people doing weird challenges that drastically increase the risks of injuries for little benefits... You could do 50 full range of motion and control'd pushups and have better results on your body and less harm on your articulations.
@NattyDaddyTyson16 күн бұрын
@ I’ve completed almost 100,000 push ups with this form. increasing weight every 100 days. I did my research. I chose wide grips push ups for this challenge. I’ve stuck too it. I’ve had no pains. No problems. I listen to my body. Sure the abuse is intense daily. Is it too much for my body to handle? Not even close. I’m solid. So if calling my push ups half reps helps you feel better about yourself then great I’ll be doing a live stream here in a few days by all means feel free to join.
@Ricardo__Milos16 күн бұрын
@@NattyDaddyTyson Oh, no it's not to feel better about myself. As explained in my previous message it's about other people's health. There are much healthier, effective and less chronophagous ways to work muscles (chest). They're definitely half-pushups, they're all for show. ^^ Check out army pushup, for hands going into the air each rep. Full range of motion. No pain doesn't mean no harm. Do you know musculoskeletal disorder? If you repeat again and again, chronically, the same move you will end up damaged on the medium/long run. It's purely medical. You're basically ruining your wrists, elbows and shoulders.
@Mr-Proper14 күн бұрын
@@NattyDaddyTyson I absolutely respect the dedication that you are putting into this and I am not questioning the difficulty of this challenge, even if it is not with the full range of motion that is fine. However doing pushup with your arms in such a wide stance will put your shoulders in a much more vulnerable position compared to if your arms were closer to your body. Especially with the high amount of volume you are doing everyday without any rest days, you will degrade your shoulder joint faster than if you were to take a closer stance, thus increasing your chance of injury without you noticing or feeling it. I am absolutely not saying you should stop and if you want to keep doing pushups this way that is totally fine by me, just thought you should know the risk that comes with this kind of movement (this is coming from someone who has suffered plenty sports related injuries even though my joints felt completely fine and i thought i was solid, and from someone who disregarded the importance joint health and not respecting the limits of their own body :) )

300 every day is impressive, but you do need to have rest days for your muscles to recuperate. Your unplanned days off is your body telling you that you need to rest. I know you've probably been told this a billion times, but thats because its extremely important to have rest days. Also try to switch things up a bit too, maybe add a little weight when you do your next push ups. Weight vests are pretty safe and cheap. Start out with a 10lb one and work your way up. Imagine being able to one day say "I can do 300 pushups in one go with double my body weight" keep up the work.
@NattyDaddyTyson16 күн бұрын
Yeah this every day thing was just keep me accountable for the goal of 100,000 push ups in a year. Not doing this again lol. Regardless I’ve been tracking my size through out this challenge quite loosely I’m not really in it for the size gains I just thought it’d be fun to see the difference. Again this whole thing orbits around the goal of completing 100,000 push ups this year. And my strength gains have been ridiculous. I haven’t trained handstand push ups at all but I recently found out I can now do handstand push ups lol.
