What is wrong with a narrator? !

Time kind'a stands still here in many places in Maine. I have lived in Machias, for over 10 years now and I did notice, sadly, that many businesses close, replaced by dollar stores, and I found out the Dollar Tree is better than some others, and wouldn't you know it, they skeedaddled also a couple years ago. Luckily, lobsters are more fun than Spuds or Brussel sprouts, so we do get the tourists again, after covid, as undoubtedly you guys in Caribou get the same summer tourist uptick, the camping and fishing and canoeing folks, I send you my greetings and hope for a future, where people from the rest of the USA will love to just sit in a green forest or a meadow, and enjoy cool summers as those are in decline in much of the US. Take care!

I was disappointed that the Lakeside theater and Rangeley Friends of the Arts was not mentioned as being the focus of cultural events in the area. They do an incredible job of delivering high quality plays, events, movies and a forum for the talented local students showing off their dance skills and showmanship. A great place for everyone! Check out their schedule.

I subscribed to your channel. I speak good amount of French and I would love to relocate there (I work from home) so I am flexible. Maine seems as a great escape from everything Florida has put me through.

The old Titcomb's General Store used to have block ice available harvested from Piper Pond. They packed the ice in sawdust and kept it in an ice house like was done in the "old days"!

I can't tell if this narrator has a typical Maine accent or if it's a conglomeration of accents.

Busted: …haahaa, I don’t have a typical Maine accent because I’ve lived all over the State. Bridgton, Brunswick, Bangor, Scarborough, and Fort Fairfield.

@@showanddell730 Maine is a gorgeous place with some of the highest cost of living in the nation. I am looking hard at Tennessee for retirement. I live on the Canadian border now and love the quiet pace and genuine people. Much lower crime rate than Bangor, Portland, or Lewiston.

The South Bog trail is not in Rangeley Lake State Park. It is 1/2 mile from the park entrance and is owned and maintained by the Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust. RLHT has several trails around Rangeley. I recommend the Cascade Stream Gorge Trail.

Thank-you for the insight. I hope viewers can take advantage of your Cascade trail recommendation, I sure hope to this October.

I was born and raised (mostly) in Florida. My mother-in-law owned a "camp" on Piper Pond. I caught some nice fish that we don't have down here in the south. I can't think of a place that I would rather visit in the continental U.S. than Abbot. I have 40 years of good memories there. Moose Head Meat and Deli in Greenville is owned and operated by my sister and brother in law. Abbot is a wonderful place to visit my inlaws way up yonder in the north.

2:50 Maine House Home Furnishings building used to be Titcombs General Store. I’m not sure how long they were and what was there before them but they were there until sometime in the 1980’s I believe. I just remember walking down there when I would stay with my best friend.

"Rit" - A true nadir of the horror genre, where the quaint village of Sewer, Maine (pronounced Soowa and often misspelled), lying right across the State Street Bridge from Derry, becomes terrorized by an evil clown called Pound Foolish that indiscriminately shows-up at Silver Star Cleaners' laundromats' six locations, terrorizing those of the local 𝙗𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙧 community's college kids or apartment dwellers who can't afford their own washers & dryers, or whose units are on the blink, tye-dieing everyone's linens and whites, leaving much of the town looking like morning after Dead Heads. This gruesome tale climaxes when Pound Foolish turns into a giant moth larva and turns his evil gaze upon the population's woolens.

The key to revitalize the town of Madawaska takes capital investments and an audience. Need to find ways to lure the Canadian ppl to come to Madawaska to spend money. I was thinking of a sportsbook with slots and table game along with a restaurant in the same complex.
