Mom and Dad lived in Willimantic. First time I went to Abbott sixty years ago, it was by dirt road from North Guilford.

No way. I bet that road was some dusty at times. I grew up in Bridgton and loved the dirt roads, they are all paved now.

2:50 Maine House Home Furnishings building used to be Titcombs General Store. I’m not sure how long they were and what was there before them but they were there until sometime in the 1980’s I believe. I just remember walking down there when I would stay with my best friend.

They are retiring, and the store will be closing soon. This place will be missed.

Visited Abbot years ago during fishing trip. Very nice town. Did not realize it was that big.

I know what you mean, in Aroostook County the down town area of many towns is quite small, yet the land area is enormous.

The old Titcomb's General Store used to have block ice available harvested from Piper Pond. They packed the ice in sawdust and kept it in an ice house like was done in the "old days"!

I was born and raised (mostly) in Florida. My mother-in-law owned a "camp" on Piper Pond. I caught some nice fish that we don't have down here in the south. I can't think of a place that I would rather visit in the continental U.S. than Abbot. I have 40 years of good memories there. Moose Head Meat and Deli in Greenville is owned and operated by my sister and brother in law. Abbot is a wonderful place to visit my inlaws way up yonder in the north.
