1:55 The split at this stage isn’t random. Each of the first two from the todos a todos round will be places as leaders of groups A and B respectively. Then, places 3 and 4 are drawn into each group. Same for 5 and 6. And again for 7 and 8.

The 2023/24 season playoffs in the Elite 1 was changed and all 8 teams face each other once on neutral grounds in a pre determined city (Douala for the 23/24 season). The team with the highest points wins the league. Given that the two league format will no longer be in use for the 24/25 season as the league is moving to a 16 team league, 5 teams where relegated as a playoffs down was introduced, with the other 11 teams who didn't make it to the playoffs facing each other once in a re determined city (Yaoundé for the 23/24 season) and the bottom 5 are relegated. For the elite 2 it is the same and the bottom 2 relegated after a playoffs downs and top 2 who make it to final are promoted - next season will have a single league format. For the regional league you have teams (number isn't specific) split into 2 zones and play each other twice (home and away) and the top 2 of each group will play playoffs and the winner of the final goes into the national interpoles. for the divisional leagues - teams from the same division and the divisional champions are promoted to the regional leagues. take the Northwest region for example - teams from the Mezam Division play each other to see who is champion and that team moves on to the regional league. I hope this helps.

Hey, a cypriot here. Just a quick correction, here in Cyprus, the title is decided not by the Goal difference, but by the previous results in the matches between 1st and 2nd team. So, if for example, APOEL and AEK had same amount of points, but APOEL had more goal difference, yet AEK had more wins in their matches that season, the title would be given to AEK

It sounds like there are a lot of games for there to be a national and state league, especially for clubs that have to play in continental competition. Do they just have heavy rotation in their squads or do players play all these matches?
@MithridatesIXАй бұрын
So in Brazil is the State Championship more or less important than the Serie A? And would they rather win the State Championship than the Copa Do Brasil?
@heitorclv15 күн бұрын
It depends, the big teams have a large schedule of games in a year, being able to play in order of schedule, but the state championship, Brasileiro Serie A and Copa do Brasil take place almost simultaneously, Super Copa do Brasil single game (Brazilian Champion Serie A X Champion Copa do Brasil), Copa Libertadores or South American Championship, and finally if they win the Copa Libertadores, they compete in the Recopa Sudamericana single game (Libertadores Champion x South American Champion) and ends with the world championship clubs FIFA. So a Serie A team that was champion of everything, can have up to 85 matches in a year, on average 60 games in Serie A and B. But the little ones may only participate in the state playing 16 official games in a year.

Bro awesome Explanation of how this league works, Primera A. Glad someone broke it down, I have always had trouble explaining this format. Is there any way they can adopt this into MLS? Each conference gets two groups, only play a total of 3 games rather than 6 like here, and have top seeded teams in each group play 3 games at home, while last placed teams play all away games, 2nd and 3rd seeded teams get both home games against lower seeds and away games against higher seeds. Just a thought, would love this in MLS, this makes regular Season is important. Top two come out the group to play single elimination game against runner up from other group and then final is two legged, thoughts

To be more specific, a Top Professional League in South Africa was formed in 1970. The league was remodelled in 1996, which is the PSL era. In overall, Sundowns has 17 league titles, 14 in PSL era Chiefs has 13 league titles, 4 in PSL era Pirates has 9 league titles, 4 in PSL era I also agree with you on the purchasing of teams licences. I think it is a bad system as it ruins the heritage of South African football.
