Any estimate how fast can the GUI keep up with the data? I tried using pyqtgraph, using one thread to parse the serial data, and another thread for the gui updating. However, my accelerometer transmits at 115kbps continuously, and the GUI starts to lag behind and become unbearably slow after just a few seconds! Seems like this is such a common application, that there must be dozens of fast performing solutions for plotting real-time data. For example, standard can-bus operates at 1Mbps, so perhaps if there was a way to use a can-bus visualization tool for serial port data (pcan-explorer, plot-juggler, Tbruno25/can-explorer SavvyCAN )? There are some serial projects ( VizhPort , serial-studio, RealtimePlotter (Processing IDE),TelemetryViewer, hyOzd /serialplot ) but not sure how they handle lots of data. BTW, any thoughts on Flutter/Flet and fl_charts?

is awesome! i use a much faster esp8266 for it so it has a higher sample rate, of course the esp has only one adc channel so i removed everything that uses the other channels. 8000+ samples sample rate.

Did anyone saw the book 'QUATERNIONS and ROTATION SEQUENCES' 😂🤣 ... After reading u have to use it as a stand for your monitor as shown here 🤣🤣 otherwise sensor fusion algorithm won't work properly 😂 ... But Honestly Nice work Mr. Madgwick 🥳 Hats off

What would be the most appropriate method for calculating the position of an object using linear acceleration data from a BNO055 sensor, given the potential presence of noise and errors in the data? Additionally, what techniques or methods can be employed to mitigate these issues and improve the accuracy of the position calculation?

Does this achievable in realtime? if yes, is accuracy enough for using in VR/AR applications? any jitter issues? what framerate it will be able to capture the data? will be good for high speed movement without frame-drop?

Wow, 9 years later this is still about the only video I can find about a IMU visualization that really shows where the object went. Amazing that there is almost no development since that time. Would it be possible to track and visualize the movement of a whiteboard eraser that cleaned a whiteboard? Or would the metal make the magnetometer mess up the values even with Kalman filter?

yeah buddy. in 2023 i try to make a VR joystick based on pure Inertia navigation. and Professor Madgwick's work and aother project called RoNIN are only 2 projects I can find to learn. Due to SLAM tech's prosperous, looks few people dig into this area.

Is there a way it can record xyz coordinates as it is rolled around a compound curved surface? All relative to a control point xyx coordinate (maybe 3 to define a plane?) to lock recorded coordinates to the control points. What is the error rate of something like this? Basically just wondering how accurate is this? Or does it lose track of its own location? Can it be autonomous with extremely low error rate? Thanks!

Hello, i'm using the code of AHRS, and it works fine, but the problem that there is a sangularity, when the pich is 90, the roll and the yaw flip, but in the video Dr madgwick has not this problem, i think he didn't use euler angle, so can anyone help me please, i want to rotate my cube frome 0 to 360 on x y z without the problem of sangularity.
