The fact that this passed and you guys agreed to letting it pass feels bad. I know some people are getting around 20% increases (which I mean it that’s great for them, more power to them), meanwhile most other places are getting the shaft of 2-5% which is nothing. I find it incredibly cowardly to have said yes knowing that most of those lower wage workers are going to be receiving basically nothing.

Good luck..... They have a long vision, and better lawyers. Every time you go to the table, they win. A few percent at a time, but they win. Eventually, you'll age out and say "It was so much better in MY time.." The Old guard always say..."I got one more contract, and I'm out."

Then you get replaced with illegals who will do your work at 1/8th the pay you were getting.

I can tell you I don’t make enough. I have 22 years experience as a tech. I have never gotten double pay for working over. And I am on a unit that caters its schedule to nursing students, not the PCTs. I also have had 8 MRSA infections since March. My doctors want me to take leave but policy is that they can let me go during that time. So I am scared to take care of my health in fear that I might not have a job to come back too. As far as the pay… nursing techs/students and MAs make more than I do even with all the certifications that I have from my years of experience.

Make sure you aren’t taking no for an answer on just compensation. These 4%, 3% contracts do nothing to improve our members financial situations while we pay 1.5% in dues monthly.

It’s very interesting that skilled wages are always mentioned with fast food workers pay....seems like the business owners want to pay fast food workers salary to highly skilled individuals. Skilled labor should be compared to IT or computer programming salaries. Technical vs Technical.....

I love our Sec Seniors in my DCYF office. They deserve SO SO much more than they get paid. Please raise their pay. I have an HR consulting background before being a social worker. Class and comp should do a desk audit and I think they would realize that some of them should be AA3s. Very underpaid.

The maintenance mechanics need to be included if they are assigned a certain trade , there are a lot of MM4’s or MM3’s that are electricians or HVAC techs and they are extremely under paid , that goes along with the whole tree ! The supervisors of these tradesman also need compensation , please please include the MM class if they are assigned to a trade for example an MM3 that is required to have an electrical license etc. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN or we WONT HAVE ANYONE TO WORK !

Only problem I see is a lot of us that are in the trades Carpenters, painters, HVAC and electrical all took new titles several years back to get a pay raise and we all became maintenance mechanics. So I hope somebody thought of all of those trades people. Because where we're at now we are all way underpaid. And several years back I mean mid-2000 is when a lot of us switched over to maintenance mechanics through DES, L&I and most other agencies nearby.
