I have this exact instrument that need reconditioning. Do you foks offer that service?

I picked up one of these in aluminum for my alto mouthpiece in 2009 or so from TMEA. I love it so much and is still one of my favorite ligatures. I would absolutely love another one (or few, because I'd love to try all the materials!) for tenor (and alto)... It doesn't seem like these are in production any more but is there any chance there are some sitting around I might be able to get my hands on?

What a strange instrument! I don't think I have played anything that heavy to date still, and I recall the rotor being very constricting compared to anything moderns. But a great job was done refurbishing it.

When I think of a Valve Trombone I think of the Trombonist Juan Tizol who played with Duke Ellington's Jazz Orchestra.

That's really cool. Could you tell us what the music in the background is and who is the trombonist? Thanks

Nice horn, but I don't think it's a Revelation. I believe all Revelations had a tuning slide stop rod on them, especially by 1929.

I love at the start of Elliot’s solo at 0:51 he has the high C sharp as a base note and plays different approaches to it every single time it’s so cool.

I have a Master Link NY Four Star from the ‘30s. I intend to do a video soon.
0:48 The sound of this instrument falls in between a Trombone & a Saxophone hence the name. Love Eddie Harris.

A 4 Valve Saxophonium would be cool, & I think a Valve Saxbone would be neat.

I have a 1985 Bach stratavarious trumpet that was my fathers. I unfortunately don’t know how to play therefore I want to sell it to someone that can play it. Does anyone know a reasonable price for one that just needs a little cleaning up.?
@RockStarOscarStern6342 жыл бұрын
If you can play Trumpet this is something you can also play. It has the same range & fingerings as a Trumpet but down an Octave.
@wevefriends6 ай бұрын
Also the same as playing a baritone/euphonium. It’s essentially playing a slightly lighter marching baritone.

Covington High School (Covington, Louisiana) had two in the 1960s. Quite a spectacle when they were spinning. And kept the crowds back during Mardi Gras parades----people didn't want to get hit by a spinning rim. Our band director was an Ohio State grad....so we did all kinds of new kinds of things in marching band.
