Anyone else having trouble getting your tune bot to give you a consistent reading? Even when the filter is on I get some wacky number often. So much so that I second guess myself as to what the actual number really is!
@beyondbetrayal22 сағат бұрын
if you have a ballpark of what it is. make sure the filter gets "set" close to the right number. like if the snare reso is reading 150, and 403 it's either a super low or high note, don't set the filter on the wrong one and it will be accurate. also, tune up or down a bit and sometimes the weird frequency will go away .

Subscribed ! One quick question, and maybe I missed it, but is the note you dialed it in to was that note at the lug or the “fundamental” of the head itself?

dude, the same tension gave different pitches? It should only happen if you use a different head (with different mass, they would not give the same pitch - the heavier one would be lower in the same tension - i got 380Hz with a Evans G12 only 7g heavier than the Evans G1 gave me 427Hz in the same tension 88 in a 14' - amazed me a bigger difference in pitch for the same tension - meaning the feel also will be drastic if you put different wight heads in the same pitch - will change entirely how it sounds and feels if you aim for the same pitch - only 7g already changed a lot). Maybe the heads adjust with the time and get streched pheraps? (for justifying you have different pitches when changing the same heads with the same tension) Thanks for the videos!
@beyondbetrayal3 ай бұрын
@@octaviohenrique.n I don't remember exactly what I said as this video is years old. But I don't think I said exactlly what you are saying. Same head at same tension will have same pitch. I realize this video is kind of old, but I figured I'd fire off a question anyhow. I've been battling tendonitis for ages, & recently had it suggested that a higher tuned reso head on toms would promote rebound more than a tighter batter, & thusly lighten the load on hands. Since you're a whole 4th up on bottom I thought I'd ask for your take. I have a tunebot v1 & have usually gone for same pitch top & bottom on toms, but I'd readily sacrifice what I like in open tone for a little more user friendly action. Nice video, & nice sounding drums! Thanks!
@beyondbetrayal4 ай бұрын
@@TheGradeZShow thanks for the comment. I do it for the sound As I like the pitch bend but also like when it sounds deep in the mic I think if you have a looser batter head you will have less rebound, but less shock. It's like playing on a rock hard surface .. If it's too hard, the rebound is bad. Then you get a bit softer' like practice pads that feel great.' As you get too soft there is no rebound.. There is a happy medium. I suggest playing around on a single drum and testing some settings to where it feels good. Ultimately you don't want any pain but I'm not a Dr. Best of luck and let me know how it goes. I've suffered some injuries in my wrists from punching bags and other things over the years and a few weeks off the kit often helps too. I suggest if you continue to have pain see a professional and mention your a drummer.
