I'm looking for a simple way to make my own holster for my 357 Python. This video is too complex, I mean not that hard. But I want less complex video, just cut and stitch in an hour without electronic tools. Great video btw.

Would these methods work on goat leather as well? I have recently purchased a laptop bag made from goat leather and I'm not sure what gives it its brown color but I assume it's dyed somehow. But it does look a bit too clean and new. I would like to add some patina to it.

My shifter was all sticky and extremely ugly, so I tried reupholstering it myself with leather. It's no longer sticky.

I only looked at the BOX STITCH (part 6), but it is a FAKE DEMO. If anyone tried that way, they would only be confused and completely fail. (Slow the video and you can see where the edits were made). Watch a different video. ===============Shame on Maze Leather =========
@warthog-h7h3 ай бұрын
The BOX STITCH demonstration is incorrect and a fake. Shame on you Maze Leather! Guys, find a better video. Box stitch should use two needles, one at each end of the same thread. Put them straight through the first and second holes respectively, starting with both on the same side. Then pass the first needle back to the other side though the holes of the second needle. The needles are on opposite sides and you can pull the threads tight. Then pass the second needle straight through new holes to the opposite side, and the first needle back through those same holes the second needle just went through. Pull the threads tight again. Repeat, pulling tight each time the needles are on opposite sides. If you try to follow the video demo you will see it is impossible the way it is done there. Slow it down completely and you can see where the cuts were made. Shameful. SO shameful.

Stop the music! It's so destructive from the video stop the overly loud noises. The noses are like a 12 year old trying to make music or something

Great vid. except one major thing: I wish you’d have taken a pic of all the sewn stitches next to each other for comparison.

Awesome video! I'm pretty fussy about how I want my stitches to look and wasn't sure what to get until I watched this. Diamond shape stitching chisel it is :)

I'd say with a BLACK POWDER PISTOL you would want to have that strap go OVER the HAMMER AS A SAFETY THING

I have a leather sling coming soon that will be new. I can't wait to try out your techniques to see if I can make it a more appropriate compliment to an aged Carcano.

That was pretty good. Why did you add the welt? Usually a welt is added to a knife sheath to protect the threads from the blade. I don't think that is needed on a holster.

I am doing a stitching job on heavy leather for a sheath. I feel the saddle stitch will work best. Your tutorial is the best I have found for me. You didn't speed up the video, so I can follow it. Thank you for posting the video. I now feel confident to do my stitching. It is harder, as the leather is 1/8" thick, and stiff, plus it is 3 layers. You have nice tools.
