I purchased a blue suede Geckota strap and turned it into an aged grey strap by soaking it in 70% water and 30% bleach overnight, came out a treat with no loss of quality.

Would these methods work on goat leather as well? I have recently purchased a laptop bag made from goat leather and I'm not sure what gives it its brown color but I assume it's dyed somehow. But it does look a bit too clean and new. I would like to add some patina to it.

Hey there, how can you make leather firmer with the rubbing alcohol without damaging the leather top grain?

I use the rubbed-in wax technique occasionally but have noticed that the "aged" areas completely fade away as soon as the piece is exposed to direct sunlight for a while. I haven't figured out how to stop that from happening.

I have to weather a ankle length trenchcoat, cant dunk it so i should use alcohol over it?
@GlitchedRed3 жыл бұрын
You've probably already done it, but if you haven't, just use a spray bottle and mist the leather with the rubbing alcohol. After a few seconds, use a cloth to buff it in.

Whats a tea candle 🦧
@GlitchedRed3 жыл бұрын
It's one of those small disk-shaped candles, often unscented and contained in their own little tin holders to keep their wax from spilling everywhere. They were originally used to in teapot warmers which, naturally, was made to warm teapots. They can also be used for mood lighting or to heat scented oils for aromatherapy.

I have a leather sling coming soon that will be new. I can't wait to try out your techniques to see if I can make it a more appropriate compliment to an aged Carcano.
