At 0:51 you see on left, vertical sign (larco) if I’m not mistaken the sign vertical (villa nova) it’s hard to read, in between Larco and Bank of America sign would become the (rainbow bar n grill) within the next couple of years. it was so clean back then plenty of petrol and diesel at the service stations. Grocery store shelves were fully stocked clean running water, electricity and air conditioning a stable currency a thriving economy wow I wonder what happened.

I was at secondary school in 1967. I did not know then but I now realise that PC was awfully close to the infamous red light district of London. Not really suitable for a child so my parents (they were quite strict) never took me there. Ah! :)

I came to Honolulu in 1984 as a teenager.....I loved Ala Moana back then.....still had mom and pop stores there.....there was an old and pretty big five and dime store there that had dusty shelves etc......miss the more simple times and not the fancy stores that charge $10,000 per square foot to rent...

I miss Hong Kong very much! Old or new. I grew up in Hong Kong throughout the 1950s and 1960s and left for the U.S. since 1969. I have been back to visit a few times and can't wait to go back to visit again.
