Great clip, remember Oxford Street like that, great shots of many of the stores now totally gone such as Woolworths, DH Evans (House of Frasers though), etc. Always surprising to see that raised section at Oxford Circus, can't recall when it was changed but I remember it like that. Some of my fondest and most vivid memories are of getting on the number 7 bus in Oxford Street around Christmas time. Rushing to the front of an old Routemaster to look out the window in the pouring rain and the conductor printing out your ticket with that purple coloured ink and seeing if it was a lucky ticket (all the numbers adding up to 21!!)

What I notice most is the variety of shops. Now, Oxford street is home only to a few names, repeated several times over between Marble Arch and Tottenham Court Road. There is very little real choice now, even on the Internet. I also notice too, the replacement of many old buildings with band, boring developers, 'design and build' tat. It's not worthy of the name 'Architecture'. Although born in 1957, I do note the diversity of peoples and appreciate it. Does anyone remember how dull and dreary it could be without diversity?
