Gears don't bother me,only 5 gears in my FMX650 Honda,but i'm disappointed there's no radial caliper at the front. Having short legs, a SM with a 19" front rim would suit me!

It is incredible. Suzuki doesn't seem to really be listening to their customers very well. What did we say we wanted? And not for 5 or 10 years but over 20 years. 6 speeds and fuel injection. Hell I would have even been ok with them changing the gear ratios like make first gear a little lower for the dirt and 5th gear slightly higher but instead they kept it the same and on top of that it's heavier as well as less power. They changed the fricken light WOW WHAT A FRICKEN IMPROVEMENT. At least the suspension was improved. They probably did that only because they made it heavier. Just great 😡

1:51 The DRZ400 has 32 HP stock, but can be modified to 50 HP. While the DRZ4 has 38 HP, it is also 16 pounds heavier, but that weight can be reduced by removing the CAT, and the likely heavier OEM muffler. The dual spark plugs, though, was a good addition to the DRZ4 since that can help a lot with power delivery.

Not sure, what currency you are using in your predictions, but a KTM 390 Duke is about 6500 EUR and the new 390 SMCR and Enduro R, based on the same platform, will not be much more expensive. If Suzuki makes the DRZ prices significantly higher, they will sell zero bikes, at least I wont buy one than?!

It's a great bike which has impressed me with its quality and excellent price to performance value. A few nitpicks in my opinion however: The tank needs to be a little less wide. It looks a bit out of proportion being this wide. Also, I think the front looks a bit too flat from the side and needs a little re-profiling to give it a more aggressive look. I think the throttle snatchiness I've experienced can be resolved with ecu updates.

Nice to see a review of this bike with focus on a different aspect.. im stuck between this vs the himalayan 452 as my daily rider and weekend off roading...any suggestions? (Ive test rode both and still cant decide.) The mt450 is a bit more expensive where i am (nepal) and RE has a much more extensive service availability. But the 270° twin on the mt450 feels really good.
@ReizePrimus9 күн бұрын
Personally in my opinion, if money is a bigger issue than performance, the Himalayan is going to be way cheaper for only a bit less performance. Less things to break on the Himalayan. You also don't need to buy an extra main stand to DIY your tubes. If you want to do slow muddy roads, Himalayan also feels better. More predictable and gentle throttle. But otherwise in terms of straight up performance the 450 MT is just better.
@niteshshrestha31109 күн бұрын
@ReizePrimus ty :) for weekend rides and occasional touring nepal is mostly gravel/rocks and mud roads...good highway stretches are limited. And the after sale service for cfmoto is concerning to me since they have only few service centers in nepal (probably just 4 in the whole country) whereas RE is all over. Im sold at less parts to break since i plan on keeping this bike long term.
@semuuuu8 күн бұрын
I was thinking the same. 450mt looks and feels good but himalayan seems to be much more nimble for daily commuting. Yet I think it is losing the fun factor a bit, compared to the 270 twin sound and feel. Anyways, at the end I decided to keep my crf250 till the apocalypse :D However as you know bikers tend to switch their bikes continuously. Therefore it would be wise to obtain a motorcycle with good service background, thus it would be easier to maintain or sell later. Other users will focus on service availability most of the time. Probably best question that comes to mind, "Which bike should I buy?" :) Good luck on your decision my friend.

For touring..abit too high rev.some change the front sprocket to 15 teeth to lower the rev abit
@ReizePrimus9 күн бұрын
Not a bad idea if they want more top end for less acceleration. But probably better to drop 3 teeth in the rear sprocket though, can save more weight on a smaller rear.
@adnansteady12599 күн бұрын
@ReizePrimus 3 teeth abit too much.the rpm cant pull power thru means the ratio abit too much but maybe can.hvnt heard anybody do it coz changing the front way easier than the rear.i ride my frens 450 to melaka...if i can rmmber 120kph was at 8k rpm.abit too high for cruising i guess.some change to 15 front but it juz goes down to 7k rpm.anyways its an oversized dirt bike or medium adv off road bike.not intended for long highways
@ReizePrimus9 күн бұрын
Hmm, doesn't sound right. Stock is 47T(R)/14T(F) = 3.357. If we go up 1T on the front for 47T(R)/15T(F) will get a ratio of 3.13. So you can also get roughly the same ratio with 44T(R)/14T(F) = 3.143, so not too much. But its the same I guess if front sprocket easier to change, I myself like to cut more weight so my own preference is I'll cut the rear rather than add more weight to the front.
@skyving9 күн бұрын
agree on this. i rode it to Melaka for the break-in, and it sits 102km/h at 6k rpm (recommended limit for the first 1,000km). after an hour or so, the noise (engine + exhaust) is a bit much. ear plugs definitely recommended.

the locknut is for keeping it tite while riding so it does not vibrate loose.
@ReizePrimusАй бұрын
That certainly could be a good unintended effect of using the locknut. But just putting out there that as far as all the provided documentation from the manufacturer goes, the design intention was for it to be for anti-theft reasons.

The sensor can be set up without the locknuts, and it still won’t vibrate loose. The locknut is actually optional and just there for an added safety measure if the user prefers.

For the price of a fobo i can buy 7-8 TPMS from shopee that doesnt need a phone connection and has a dedicated display. And therein is the crux of the issue of Fobo, it is so damn expensive vs the alternative that does the exact same thing
@suhailirahman9096Ай бұрын
Good point, but cheaper TPMS options are often inaccurate and don’t give real-time alerts, which is often an issue for people who use TPMS for long distance ride. You'll only require internet connection during the setup, which is less than 5 min. Other than that, you only need to turn on your Bluetooth. As for the dedicated display, I think people who prefer a minimal setup on their bike would find FOBO more appealing without the bulky dedicated display.
@TravelomaniaDBroz29 күн бұрын
I believe the 7-8 TPMS wont Last for the time FOBO will Last. What we pay with FOBO is Quality, reliability and Customer Support. Getting something from Shopee and from China which wont Last for 2 months and accuracy always in question. I personally dont want to put my life in danger with that type of Product, i prefer to spend on FOBO rather than spending on TPMS which need to change every 2 months, yes, probably you need 7-8 in 2 years duration.

One issue I had with TPMS sensors was the rubber o-rings/gaskets on the actual sensors itself getting loose (the red o-ring shown in 3:35) and air will leak from the tires gradually. Are the o-rings for this fobo tpms sensor glued onto the sensors itself?
@ReizePrimusАй бұрын
The rubber gasket on the sensor side appear to be moulded in, or at least glued in. Pushing at it with a wooden toothpick, it feels like the gasket would tear apart first before it can even come loose.

Looking at the sensor dont seem to be glued but the design in such a way that it wont come easily even you try with your fingers to pull. You probably need to change after 5 years, which completely make sensor as all rubbers get degrade over time specially when using in all Weather conditions.

Ola do Brasil!!
@ReizePrimus2 ай бұрын

I like the nylon mesh covering on the foam however my Icon (Squad 3) bag has ID/card pockets that velcro on to the backstraps near the upper shoulders that kept rubbing the bottom of my helmet as I ride.
