This isn't simply the best Barbie movie of all times it's also generally a musical masterpiece. As a child I loved this movie so much, for a while I would at least watch it once a day if not more. And now I can appreciate it more for the treasures within 💜🩷💙

I love this video and now you’ve also made some good points. While Erika and Dominick are a good couple, my favorite Barbie couple is Annika and Aidan. If you watched The Magic of Pegasus you’ll know why

I love that Anneliese is a REALISTIC princess. While animated films feature princesses remarkably often, they almost never get into what it actually means to be one. It is a duty and a job. Anneliese understands that. She understands her duty, and her privilege, that "every present comes with strings". She has a rounded personality and interests, but she is also clearly a product of someone raised in traditional surroundings. After all, Anneliese wants only one day of freedom BEFORE doing her duty. She only wishes that her academic studies could be combined better with her life as a princess.

This is hands down one of the best Barbie movies ever made. It is such a classic. You can tell the creators gave their all in this movie. The characters, the music, singing, the storyline. On top of that, Martin Short voicing one of the best villains in the Barbie cinematic universe, Preminger! Everytime my favourite song from the movie, if you love me for me plays, a wash of nostalgia hits me like a storm. It truly sad that we might never get a well written and directed Barbie movie like this ever again from Mattel.

This is EVERYTHING! Very well put together. I didn’t love this movie the first time I watched it, but I believe it’s because I was in that “musicals are lame” stage that didn’t last very long (I think I was 17ish?) Did a complete 180° and it’s now my favorite Barbie movie! You said it so much better than I could, but it’s characters, music and story really make this special. I also love that they don’t “talk down” to the audience. I can’t get enough of this soundtrack! No skips at all, but Free and the Cat’s Meow compete for being my favorite. The former sets up the setting perfectly and the latter leaves me in tears 🤭 Love to see others being passionate about this movie so many years later 💙💕

I remember Sleeping beauty from around 3 musketeers because i saw mentions of it being in development online. There was even an entry for it on Wikipedia for a while. By the time Muskateers was coming out the barbie movies were direct to dvd fair and only fans knew about them or parents looking for things to buy their kids.

Braindumping every Barbie mystery I can remember coming across 1. The tie in Courtney doll for Rock n Royals plays a recording of Brittany McDonald (Barbie's singing voice from Secret Door) singing What If I Shine. There might not be a full version of her singing the song, but there definitely SHOULD be an actual high quality version of the song out there somewhere. 2. Arguably not Barbie, but there's not an official release of the version of the song Live by Jennifer Marks from My Scene: Masquerade Madness. The song features slightly different lyrics from the original. There are a couple recreations on KZbin but nothing official. 3. One of the first tie in books for Barbie and Her Sisters in a Pony Tale was called "Pink Boots and Ponytails" and claimed it was based on the movie to be released in the fall of that year. The book is about Barbie playing a cowgirl named Samantha, which has basically nothing to do with the plot of Pony Tale. The dolls (which are designed and finalized first) are of Barbie as an equestrian, so I don't think they had a whole movie planned out or anything, but there's a possibility that it's based on a concept that got scrapped in favor of Pony Tale. I mean the entire "story" is basically just a plot outline. 4. Why did you commission a whole musical style concept album based on Fairytopia 3 by the writer of the Fairytopia musical, Mattel? 👀 5. Really stretching the definition of lost media here, but there is no way that Star Light Adventure did not have more deleted content. That movie felt like there was a good 15 minutes cut for time. I want the storyboards/script drafts. Also I want to definitively know who Brooklyn Barbie's singing voice is in Big City, Big Dreams. Malibu's singing voice varies by movie but it's never her speaking voice. Idk if the same goes for Brooklyn. Her VA used to sing a lot on KZbin but generally in a higher register, so she sounds different but it's hard to say for certain if that's her or not. Mattel's pretty tight-lipped about that type of thing so it's not in the credits anywhere that Malibu even has a different singing voice. I have two similar Monster High mysteries to rant about but this comment is long enough already.

Okay so my friend and I thought it would be fun to come up with a fake Barble Sleeping Beauty movie concept so I poured a LOT of research into the history of Barbie Sleeping Beauty and there actually was a SEPERATE line of Sleeping Beauty dolls shortly before the Cinderella and Snow White ones. They had a prince, play sets, a gimmick doll, and at least one other doll with a similar design but no gimmick, and a gift set with a Kelly. Literally throw in one or two more Kellys, maybe a friend doll, and that's a whole movie line up. THERE WAS EVEN AN AD FOR THE SLEEPING BEAUTY LINE. It REALLY feels like they had something planned. Anyway, I've heard a third theory that the Sleeping Beauty movie was going to be one of the first three movies, but got scrapped and elements of it were recycled for Rapunzel (both princesses are originally saved from a tower, Barbie!Rapunzel is a secret princess like how Aurora is in the Disney version).

I just came here to say that Eric Colvin, the music composer who did music for some Barbie movies, uploaded a bunch of fairytopia, mermaida and Mariposa music to his Spotify!!!! Basically the soundtracks for fairytopia, mermaidia, magic of the rainbow, and Mariposa. It wasn’t necessarily lost media but we can now listen to it fully without having dialog over it.

There was a Barbie and The Diamond Castle play in Argentina that had the same plot as “Barbie LIVE!” the story was that Barbie and Teresa were shooting the Diamond Castle movie but Teresa was not feeling confident so Barbie was trying to cheer her up

If they actually made the Sleeping Beauty movie in the early 2000's, I think it would've definitely been my favorite😔 I've always loved the Sleeping Beauty fairtytale and there will always be a special place in my heart for the Tchaikovsky barbie films

Hello! First I want to say that I loved your video, I really didn't think Barbie had so much lost media content, but I loved that someone decided to address it all in one compilation video. Here I leave you information about other cases of lost media content in the franchise: -The music video for "Wings" from the Barbie and Swan Lake soundtrack. The video was originally included on the DVD and was performed by singer Leslie Mills; was hanging around KZbin for a while until it was removed from the platform due to copyright. It was not until 2022, thanks to KZbin user "My Doll Gabinet" that the music video could be recovered from its files and re-uploaded to the platform. -Barbie: Live! Princess Stories or The Adventures of the Princess, was a musical that Mattel carried out in certain Latin American countries, the actress in charge of playing Barbie was Liz Solari and in this musical presented in theaters three classic princess stories were represented: Rapunzel, Swan Lake and the Princess and the Pauper; This musical work was never officially marketed by Mattel, but I understand that there were certain illegal recordings floating around on the internet, unfortunately the download links are currently down. I was a bratz and barbie girl but I also played with boys toys as well so I didn't care and I loved this lost media video especially would of loved that sleeping beauty film.
