I am very grateful for your videos and appreciate how honest you are with the journey too. Thank you for making this content and sharing all you are learning. I also get moments where I freeze, lose the courage to actually begin to animate/I empathise with you in this video and also have a cat..2 at the moment. Hehe..they always get on stage! & Definitely setting goals that are challenging but not too crazy and breaking things down into smaller chunks helps with remaining productive when feeling overwhelmed. I film on dragon frame the green screen removal however is done on After Effects :))

As long as you keep solid light on the green/blue screen, lighting the subject will be easy

Thank you for your comment. Solid light on the blue screen yes, but the problem is turning the ball smoothly whilst manipulating the other lights so it goes from day to night ;) In the end having someone help me was the answer!

I cant wait for the finished film :) big projects (and this one is big) can be daunting, especially if you're doing most of it yourself. I think we're all overwhelmed by projects and the frustration of not being able to get what's in your head out but, as you say, giving up isn't a solution. Watch your energy levels and take small steps, it will be worth it in the end :)

I have had this same dilemma, with a stop motion project also. Its a big project to do a short film when you are all the crew and the creative. I have made elaborate puppets and sets for an idealised project but during the pandemic I had all the time in the world but couldn't finish it. For now I've boxed it all away. The story I know is solid but I feel the set wont do it justice. Instead I have started a new smaller project to help me train and that I can finish. Ambition beyond scope can hurt your self esteem. Its not failure to reassess. You seem to know what your doing. Your puppet and world look really good. Just reflect on this video and realise sometimes you have to ride the wave of doubt and insecurity. Each time you will learn how you respond to challenges. Thanks for the insight Elaine.

Thank you very much for your insights and comment.. I tend to do that too. I have one big project and stop it half way then start working on smaller ones aha. make a block figure from plaster, carve it to the desired shape(s) (wear a mask and vacuum frequently), then you can impart much greater detail and have master for repeated casting…
