Great work!! We found that once the initial hesitancy period is over and the splashing starts, bathtime was (and still is) like a trip to Waterworld!!

We were told to use our elbows to test water temp, 30 years ago we didn’t have those ducks. I used a smaller bath in our big bath, so lots less water. Both my boys loved baths, except for the first time we did it in the hospital. When I had my first one I was in hospital a week, how things change!

You are allowed to ramble. Just know that you can read as much stuff as you want, but you will find your own way of doing things, and that’s ok. It’s good you can support each other and keep talking. I always found that I didn’t have much to talk about when my partner came home as days are mostly the same. You definitely need friends or family to feed off so you have some mental stimulation through the day. If someone comes around, take advantage and nip for a shower or something, make the most of your visitors, they won’t mind having a cuddle. Just know also that you both are doing fine with Emily, she’s obviously thriving, and that’s all that matters for now. My first baby is 30 this month and I still worry if he’s ok lol.

It goes fast in hindsight and in the moment it's also eternal. Things are definitely shit some of the times and that's ok. I remember feeling like I was wasting my life putting the kids to bed (they took a looooong time every night for years and years, still do sometimes) I love them unconditionally, have the most wonderful time with them and have gotten to know anger and impatience like never before. It's a journey.

This is a friendly reminder to put the cute outfits on before they grow out of them - I mean… to make the most of every moment etc etc etc. This seriously is going so fast though. So slow at times though but so bloody fast. 🤯 This was 9 weeks with our Emily Joan. We bought this little outfit the day of our first embryo transfer as a special way to mark the day and we told ourselves the baby we end up with will wear these transfer day outfits one day. A special little outfit and so glad we remembered to put it on her two whole times… 👀 We were so lucky that Emily was the second and final embryo from two rounds of egg retrievals. 💜💜💜💜💜💜

I met my now wife after leaving my then husband. Coming out in the 80’s wasn’t really the done thing, so I conformed to the norms, got married to a man and had 2 boys. I left the husband, who wasn’t a very nice person, in June 2002, my boys were nearly 5 and 8, I was 32, I met my now wife in the August of 2002, She lived 50 miles away. Mum was pretty shocked I was gay, I had no idea why lol, I thought the signs were obvious enough like my wife appearing every weekend lol. We bought a house and we all moved the 50 miles to where she lived. We got married in 2008 and we now have a 2 year old grandson. Enjoy your baby, they don’t stay little for very long! ❤️🏳️‍🌈🇬🇧
