I’ve just watched the whole video and I’m still a little confused tbh. One more rewatch and I’ll definitely understand. Great video tho !

In all my years of playing and singing, I never played lead, we usually had a "hired gun" or a great player. Now I'm old and all my guys are dead or disappeared. Recently I've met some new (old folks) and realized I'm the last guy standing but not dead yet! I'm working really hard on this pentatonic stuff .. Anyone like Freddie or Albert King or BB King? . Trouble is I'm a white guy. Stevie Ray said I'm really a black guy in a white body. R.I.P. Stevie Ray.

Thank you, I have watched most of your videos now and they have helped me out of a 15 year rut of all the classic problems you explain for an intermediate guitarist. If I have some extra money around I will buy your books. Thank you for doing the longer videos I appreciate you man!

48 minutes into this video you start teaching. Setting the scene should not take 48 minutes. You sold me on the importance of using the correct sort of memory for instant recall and how useful fretboard memorization is for guitarists in the first few minutes. Great video as always but an hour long video on one simple subject will frustrate watchers and drive all but your most ardent fans away imho. I left this running while the waffle happened and tuned in just before the end. Sorry, you are a great, natural teacher so maybe; review videos from the watcher's perspective and learn to edit seamlessly? Will allow much faster uploads. :) 👍

To find all the notes in a scale start with your tonic go back one note then go forward five notes the 7 notes of the notes of your scale that could be seen in 2 seconds using the circle of fifths !
@MichaelTrentColvin28 күн бұрын
There's an infinite number of uses for the circle of fifths I'm going to do a video on one maybe you could too there's enough material 🤔

I hear a 6,5,1 in C# harmonic minor??
@willmetz_musicАй бұрын
Harmonic minor is not a key. Keys are only major or minor. The harmonic minor is simply borrowed from on the dominant chord, but it isn’t a key.
@HarlanHarvey76Ай бұрын
@@willmetz_music I agree! But it is a scale and in this case possibly, the best sounding scale to use. My ears instantly hear harmonic minor. Just thought harmonic minor was a very relevant harmony to discuss in a progression like this🤷 If I hear a dominant move to a minor, I'm instantly recognizing the function of harmonic minor. But with 7 different 7th chords, we could get a bit more creative with the scale 😁

I think there is a small error in the diagram at 33:05. If it's E major, shouldn't the G string be fretted at the first fret instead of being open? Otherwise the shape of E major would not be shifted unchanged towards the high E string, as shown in the next diagram.

I happened across your KZbin site for the first time this morning. I’ve got to tell you that you teach in a way that makes it so much easier for me to understand the caged system, triads, and bar chords. I am looking forward to spending a lot of time studying this lesson. Please don’t change anything in the way you present your lessons!

So in your additional note a b2 is a minor second, a bb2 is a diminished 2nd, and a b5 is a diminished 5th - I just want to ask you to confirm please as my head is bubbling away and I don’t get the logic tbh. 😢
