Wow! Will you're such a blessing and an amazing teacher. Please how do I get the document associated with this video?

Discovered your channel the other day. Your video's are exceptional both in content and presentation. Well above most guitar teachers on youtube. With many of them I'll just watch and lose attention halfway, but with yours I find myself paying attention and making notes in my notebook. Thanks for sharing your knowledge in such an accessible form. Just wanted to let you know. I hope your channel grows to the size it deserves.

Excellent. With your help, I finally know how to use the context of the music to choose a specific mode.

I have been going back to basics for about 3 years to fill in gaps in my knowledge of the fretboard and theory ( I have been playing in cover bands for over 30 years) and I dont get why people say that you tube videos are not good for learning guitar. I learned the CAGED system, pentatonics over the whole fretboard, and Major scale and modes....but as you said in the pentatonics video, you never stop practicing this stuff, and you are one of the best explainers and most thorough presenters of this stuff, so I am going to take a deep dive into your lessons, thank you for making them :)

Thanks for the kind words!!

I think the main reason people say youtube isnt good for learning guitar is because the amount of videos is overwhelming, the quality varies a lot and there's no structure to them which is vital for especially beginners. It's definitely great if you know what you want to learn, especially if you find a great channel like this one with such high quality lessons

Hi Will. You're an amazing person to share your knowledge and explain it so well. How do we get the book download and cheat sheets?

Hey! This was a master class for and the books were only for the participants. But I’m happy to send you the documents. Send me an email and I’ll send them over.

I have been "cheating" for years using pentatonic to figure out where to start. Once I find the "color" note for a mode, my brain knows where I am on the fretboard, and then all the appropriate chords associated with that mode are looking at me on the fretboard. Of course, this involves complete abuse of pentatonic box one...

Happy to help :). Thank you so much. How long have you been playing guitar?

For many more years than I care to admit, (I'm 67). Getting a handle on how and when to apply my favorite modes, (Dorian and Phrygian), always eluded me. So thanks for this video. BTW, I have never been fond of music which is "out" or "outside".

@@dmArythmic Happy to help! Do you have Facebook, or an email? Would love to chat further :)

@@willmetzacademy I would enjoy that, but, I am saturated with personal business right now and have not enough time. Thank you for asking though, perhaps sometime in the future we could correspond when things aren't so demanding of my time and attention. I wish you all the best, your videos are high quality and your channel and videos deserve far more views.

That was not nonsense. That d Dorian jam was something that I finally connected with at my level. I jammed along having a breakthrough moment and you called it nonsense! 🤣👍 That’s alright a breakthrough moment is a blessing… thank you very much. I’m about a month in on discovering you. It was the C A G E D/ target notes that is my starting point. I like you pace while delivering the nectar so that it can absorb into my brain. 🫶🤘✌️
