This is probably one of their most polished "pop friendly" songs from that era, although the lyrics deal with drug addiction. Some to check out: Ceremony - version 2 ( heavier sound) Bizarre Love Triangle - album or extended dance mix Perfect Kiss - Video version is a demo of the song, so it's the exact opposite of polished. Confusion - electro early hip hop feel. I could go on and on, but no one wants to read all that. Good luck with your channel!

What you played was two parts of a multipart epic. 2112 is an album in which the A side is an entire story being told. You played Overture and Temples of Syrinx... there's an entire album side to the rest. The B side of this album are independent songs, which are also really good. Other reaction channels have done the entire A side. Rush has no issues with these. They seem to appreciate the interest. I like to think they are also savvy enough to understand this brings 40-50 year old music to new audiences, younger generations that have never heard any music older than a few years. If only Don Henley and other could understand this concept.

Tuomas has said that this album has all real instrument sounds and the orchestra and choirs he has written for and arranged for each song. The orchestra versions are essentially the orchestra backing tracks for each song, without the choir, vocals and band instruments. I always love how Tuomas uses the harp, as he did in the end of Perfume of the timeless.

This album is like an old concept album by Pink Floyd, you might take the time to listen to it from the first song all thru to the last one. After about 50 times now it grew on me up to the 5 best albums I own - and I am 64 now and have about 8000 records. The last song -Lanternlight- is my personal song of the year 2024 by far. It is very, VERY different but exactly that is the reason. For me Nightwish has evolved to one of those rare bands, that create art without any consideration to what anybody expected or to say it the short way: Nightwish does Nightwish things. And I predict this record will be recognized in decades, just like Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the moon. Some records last forever. Greetings from Germany

Thank you for this reaction. Nice to see that this group touches people outside of Finland as well. My favorite album is probably Endless Forms Most Beautiful or Human. :II: Nature, but I think it's unfair to compare any of their albums, because each one has its own theme and atmosphere that just takes you in on a journey or a story. If you enjoyed the drumming on this track try out Weak Fantasy Nightwish Live in Tampere 2015 , you're in for a ride

@@RewindReliveReview Lantern Light is beautiful, but when you listen you will hear Floor backed by piano played by Tuomas, strings, and later the full orchestra, and also Troy singing. You will not hear the rest of the band, so it is different. Oh, and the Video imagery is gorgeous, very artfully cinematic.

I definitely love his old school vibe! It speaks volumes of his talent that he sits back and allows that guitar solo to shine and also speaks volumes to the guitarist for how well he understood the melody. So many guitarists will over do their solos and make it too busy just because they try so hard to make it stand out. However, this man definitely understands the melody and he literally had his guitar singing that melody. It slid in perfectly. I agree with your comparisons to Otis and Cook. He didn't just sing this song, he made me feel his emotion in the lyrics. Love y'alls reactions and I 100% agree with you. This is a 🔥SIZZLE🔥‼️

I've heard a lot of Jethro Tull. I've seen them in concert many many times, and my opinion is they are the greatest live band of all time. I'm going to go back and see which thick as a brick concert you listened to, because most people that I've seen do reactions to that thought it was unbelievably good, but my opinion is, Aqualung is a great song. it's not their best, but it's a great song. as far as your program goes, I would get rid of the guy whith the mask. he's unnecessary. He is just a distraction. your opinion is more thoughtful, and therefore to me is more useful. I'm not going to hit the Bell until I see another reaction or two of yours. I really think truthfully, get rid of the guy with the makeup. He Is not a very good judge of music. By the way my reason for saying that is... the song Aqualung was huge back in the 70s. they couldn't play a concert, I don't think even till today, without doing that song. I think the crowds would tear the building down if they tried to leave without doing Aqualung. So that's my reason for saying your buddy is not a very good judge of music. Of course he can have his own opinion, but I think his opinion will be in a small minority.
