I found a big chunk of anthracite coal in the shallow surf of the Gulf of Mexico back around 1999-2000. I stepped on it and picked it up to inspect it and I thought it was some sort of lava rock or something. It wasn’t until years later I found out from my Earth Science professor what it actually was. He said it more than likely fell off of a transport ship and washed up in that area. I still have the piece of coal and I just think it’s such a cool story.

Hi, I've been following your kayak camping videos for 2 years. I found them to be very relaxing. Such a solitude and meditative. I also have an Oru Bay kayak. Always wanted to do a kayak camping trip, but don't want to solo it because it's kinda risky to go all by yourself. Wish I'm in MN, so I can go with you! Keep up with those videos and please share your multi day solo kayak camping trips with us. Thank you.

Thanks for the video; I'm thinking of modifying mine by drilling more holes in the bottom as you have done. I find that if it is not sitting on a metal plate that the intake holes on the bottom are easily choaked off. Lixada has a similar stove out that has much more clearance on the bottom to prevent this.

From a structural standpoint, if I could guarantee the seal, would installing a hatch on the rear section be helpful? I don’t know how much the panels support the full weight.
@ironearth7013
@ironearth7013 2 жыл бұрын
A hatch would be an interesting idea. Even more so with the Coast which requires almost complete disassembly to get gear in and out . With the older version of the Bay this is not that difficult. However all Oru Kayaks are not water tight so dry bags are needed in any case.
