your peacocks is so precious, and what amazing mutations, maybe you could help me? for my passion I have created a list of mutations, but some in Europe are almost non-existent or described in such an ambiguous way that I don't understand the real differences or if they refer to the same coloring in a different way. when I ask fans of my country for information, they answer that the colors I'm talking about don't exist or they look at me as if I were talking about mars.

I would need you to be much more specific as to what you were referring to and then I would be happy to help. There are some mutations overseas that are not here in the United States. I may not be familiar with ALL of the mutations overseas. but I think i know about most of them.

@@mypeacocks184 thank you very much😭, for example Taupe confuses me a lot, it is described in illustrations as very gray, similar to opal, but when I see it on video it looks more like the cameo, with white wings and a color that reminds me of peach

@@mypeacocks184 sonja peacocks have been described to me as purple, but it is clear to me that they are not the same type of coloring nor the same gene so where is the difference?
@mypeacocks184 Жыл бұрын
@@AuroraSama Taupe is the expression of both Purple and Opal at the same time. It is a gray looking bird. But does vary from Opal. Opal has much more iridescent color and Taupe has very little to none. They do look different online then in person. So it is hard to explain the visual difference. Charcoal is also a gray colored peafowl color too. Taupe is slightly warm in coloration. But not much. The problem also with the more matte colors is they fade a lot from wear and tear and sun damage through the year. Neither Cameo or Taupe have "white wings" so if you can share the video you are referring to me I can take a look at it and see what it is you are actually referring to. That would help me clarify more actually.

@@AuroraSama Sonja's Violetta and Purple are two totally different mutations. One is a very deep rich color. While the other is a washed out overall brownish color base. European Violet is a different looking bird than either of these two. One of my friends have recently imported the Europen Violets and I have gotten to see them side by side with our United states Purple. I have own my own Purple and Sonja's Violetta. They are extremely different visually and the gene is different too. I have tested this myself by putting a Sonja's Male over purple hens here and have confirmed they are not the same allele position. If you find my page on facebook I have lots of pictures of these types next to each other for comparisons as to how different they look.

how did you get them so friendly?! gorgeous birds
@mypeacocks184 Жыл бұрын
These hens are imprinted when young. Never imprint males. They tend to become extremely agressive once mature if you do.this also causes problems with some hens too. Though the problems are different. Primary the confusion of imprinting can cause them to choose their humans as a mate and there for reject their own species. Which makes them not reproduce. So if you want them to reproduce don't imprint on them either. Imprinted and friendly are two very different things. The males here is NOT imprinted. But just likes us because we feed lots of treats. Notice he isn't one I pet. But he doesn't dislike me and is curious. This is more desirable because tame ones don't have confusions like imprinted ones In general I discourag imprinting on young birds and encourage treats and interactions once they're 6 months old or older. To film trust and make them tame and interactive.

These kind of birds are very wild. They spook easily. If I would move fast they would take off. Even though they have known me since six weeks old. It's just how they are. Very wild with wild instincts and reflexes. They little bird is very much more domesticated and tame in comparison.
