Peafowl behavior. A black shoulder Spalding peahen feeding her four peachicks. You can hear her screech food call here. She is also clicking and can be seen flufing her neck out at times and beginning to raise her tail. This is because she is warning the cat just behind me. She is uncomfortable with him there. This enclosure also contains my two adolescent muticus muticus import stock Green Peafowl. I find it facinating how their cohabitate so well while young. The male especially hangs very close to the hen and chicks often. The Green Peacock and Peahen will not likely tollorate others by next Spring and will have this enclosure to themselves. These are magnificent Greens from Bob's Green Peafowl.
