It’s degrading and probably smells awful! Unfortunately it’s no good any more. The best way to stop this happening is to keep it in your freezer. It will Last for many years if kept frozen.

Also, after receiving the cotton/paper wet (for shipping), would it be advisable to dry it sooner rather than later and freeze it dry (vs leaving it wet in bag)?
