spinning the blade to make the glowing effect was the first way of making a lightsaber in the movies.... funny that its sort of like poetry they rhyme

Ultra white nylon stocing would do well to help hide the edges and diffuse the beam. Its also very stretchy. Use a half sphere hollow cap to keep the tip rounded

How about modulating the motor speeds to make extending/retracting sound more like the real thing?

When me and my friend were graduating high school around 2000, we planned about this. One of my friends did end up building an engineering draft, but we weren’t able to develop it further. Seeing you guys pull it off really fires me up to call my buds up to start working on it again. Congratulations and thanks for sharing your process! And also congrats on graduating! 😊

Their version is still super cool, I think WSJ just released a more in depth video on it working - our design/mechanism is different than theirs but cool to see how different teams approach the problem

Probably shouldn’t have went with a lipo battery, there very dangerous and require an expensive charger. Probably better for you to use a small 4s lithium ion battery with bms. Besides that good video! You can use a voltage converter buck/boost to get the diff voltage for motor.
@herotechКүн бұрын
Agree with your points for sure, when we were looking at options to keep the hilt small the higher energy density of the LiPo among all the options won out - would definitely like to incorporate a BMS for future designs. Thanks for commenting!

Pretty cool. Not too dissimilar to an idea I had to contain plasma with a possible real real lightsaber. Unfortunately, plasma doesn't interact with itself so you can't have proper duels.

Kind of a click baity video title but still a cool project. I was thinking real meant that it would be something similar to hacksmith's, you know functional? Not real in the sense that it physically exists and really retracts.

If only it were a real lightsaber, as the title says, and not some Disney saber recreation. Still a great video though.

You need a invisible wave generator that can holds the strong lazer energy in thin air,while the energy is compressed to make How to make a real possible life savor thearory enough to cut through matter invisible energy field as a container to hold the attoms and neutrons in a static compressed state tk hold the main power source in to become one energy to gether so both fields become one so it wont shine on the walls,just be a solid feald.Pretty much only way.

Cool idea! Would need a pretty significant power source
@ghostbombl80342 күн бұрын
@@herotechthis pretty much onlyvway to make a floating holligram. The holligram would not need to much power. It needs to make a invisible wave thin air so the red blue green can react on it like a movie screen.only you see is just the light.
