I always find it so funny how such an important part of Doctor Who lore was just casually named 11 seasons into the show's history and it's like the third or fourth most famous thing about the story.

On the contrary, Jon Pertwee himself said in a convention (available on KZbin) that they all three were in absolute hysterics during the filming of this, and that it was great fun. Patrick was also sitting in the same convention with the Brigadier and they confirmed, so I don’t understand where this is coming from.

She's stronger than she gets credit for. People get caught up in the unrequited-love storyline, but she doesn't just mope. She's strong and sympathetic at the same time in this scene.

Loved Heaven Sent and Hell Bent - you know it’s actual fans listening to your podcast when a 12 episode gets 81% banger rating. I still think of NuWho drs, he’s the most quintessentially “The Doctor” when compared to Classic. As of yet, my favourite by a wide margin.

Something I love about the hymn scene is that Martha joins in on the singing but the Doctor doesn't. In a season all about what it means to be human, the Doctor keeps being in situations where he could do a human thing, he knows how to and probably wants to, but chooses not to because of his Time War and Rose traumas. Martha is almost a metaphor for the Doctor's connection to humanity. He obviously wants it and keeps flirting with it but it'd mean letting go of his pain and he's not ready to do that

Well after 7 seasons of portraying Dr Who Tom Baker even stated that he was tired of dealing with the new production management and the Directors . Some of the outtakes show him and the directors constantly arguing about the direction of the stories and character arcs in those stories back in the day.
@PullToOpen17 күн бұрын
Tom certainly felt a large degree of ownership over the role. That’s to his credit but it definitely could make him difficult at times

Verity Lambert on the commentary track said that she agreed with the concern that scissors were a real thing that kids could find in the house, and might hurt themselves if they tried to copy Susan - so that became the Dr Who rule after that. No realistic violence with easy to find everyday things.
