I quite liked the episode. A lot of fun. For the detractors, I kinda doubt they're going to sing every time. This Doctor is less traumatized, feeling more able to let go. That said, I do hope they have some darker and scarier stories in the future. Greatly enjoyed your discussion, though it didn't start for almost 20 mins.

I think the Doctor is just referring to them as air vents for familiarity's sake, given the size of the goblins it's entirely possible that those might just be regular hallways, or some kind of efficient goblin crawling highway system
