I'm so happy, happy-go-lucky me I just go my way, living ev'ry day I don't worry, worrying don't agree Winter, Fall and Spring, I just smile and sing Things that bother you, never bother me I think everything's fine Living in the sunlight, loving in the moonlight Having a glorious time Haven't got a lot, I don't need a lot Coffee's only a dime Living in the sunlight, loving in the moonlight Having a marvellous time Just take it from me, I'm just as free as any dove I do what I like, just when I like, and how I love it I don't give a hoot, give my cares the boot All the world is in rhyme Living in the sunlight, loving in the moonlight Having a wonderful time I go swimming with pretty women And I find life is divine Swimming in the sunlight, swimming in the moonlight Having a glorious time When I'm stepping out with my runabout How we step is a crime Starting in the sunlight, ending in the moonlight Having a marvellous time I bet what I want, get what I want, once in a while But if she says "No!", I let her go and keep on smiling I'm right here to stay, when I'm old and grey I'll be right in my prime Chasing in the sunlight, loving in the moonlight Having a wonderful time I'm right here to stay, when I'm old and grey I'll be right in my prime, ooh Chasing in the sunlight, loving in the moonlight Having a wonderful time

My boyfriend and I bought a graphonola from an antique store and one of our favorite 78s is this recording. We dance cheek to cheek to it and it will always be so special to us.

Fun fact: Ben Selvin recorded more pop songs than any other recording artist in the history of popular music. It's actually unknown exactly how many records he made but the accepted range is somewhere between 6,500 and 10,000 two-sided 78rpm records using a variety of pseudo-names. That equates to somewhere in-between 13,000 - 20,000 songs. So OK. Let's compromise and say he only recorded 15,000 songs and call it an acceptable number. That's FIFTEEN THOUSAND songs.

This song was also featured in 1945's "Blithe Spirit" featuring Rex Harrison and the wonderful Margaret Rutherford. It sounded like this particular recording too.

This song remembers me that 3 importants grandaunties were born in 1938, 1940 and 1942, and 3 of my grandparents were born in 1944. My grandaunties are 86, 84 and one of them died at the age of 67 on April 2010, when I was less than 3 years old, and my paternal grandfather died in 1988 at the age of 44, my paternal grandmother died 1 month before her 58th birthday in 2002, and my maternal grandfather died on July 2021, at 77.

@@amylynnhunt55 the song remembers me about them 'cause they were born during FDR's presidency, although nobody in mi family is american, they were born during those 12 years. PS: My grandaunties who were born in 1938 and 1940 are alive.

Although Trump is a bit bad, we're still better off with him than Kamala Harris And also considering this song was used mainly for FDR I just wanna say that I don't hate hate the guy, FDR is in my top 10 list of presidents mainly because he got us through the depression and MOST of ww2

My parents named me after Robeson; they couldn't attend a private house party where he appeared in Chicago. So I got his name. It's been a revelation to me how wide his influence was. And still is. What a fighter for truth and justice! Humbling.
