Frankie Carle was certainly one of my all time favorite pianists. He did a lot of albums with pop and country songs as well as his big band tunes. I wish that kind of music was still being played on radio. Great video, thanks.

I believe he wrote and recorded "Sunrise Serenade". Glenn Miller did a great cover version but he didn't know what to call the B-side. He settled on calling it "Moonlight Serenade" to frame it as a companion piece to the A-side. The rest was magic. Frankie Carle was the greatest.

Actually Carle was playing with the Edwin McEnelly Orchestra in the 20s and is on some of that bands records as early as 1927! e.g. "My Sunday Girl" on Victor.
