Can i plug my Aruba Series IAP 325 on this? and how about the configurations ?
@armanshaghi
@armanshaghi Ай бұрын
Yes you can, but since 1430 is an unmanaged switch you will only have a single VLAN..If you need multiple VLANs have a look @ 1830 series switches instead.

Can you tell me how to physically wire 4 switches for stacking? and which ports do i put on link aggregation?
@stevenschuurman6731
@stevenschuurman6731 3 ай бұрын
Nice video 🙂 Why do you need to create the Link aggregation uplink on port 24? The stack is already connected with 4 ports and can be seen as 1 switch? Thx Steven
@Joghurt-mit-der-Ecke
@Joghurt-mit-der-Ecke Ай бұрын
This is no longer about the actual stack. Here, another device is connected to the switch that should be highly available. This can be another switch, for example. However, LACP must also be configured on the other device. If the upper switch fails, the lower switch continues operation without (or perhaps only with a brief) interruption. This is because if you have only connected a device to one of the two switches, it will fail if this switch fails.

What if you add a third 1960, do you need to delete the aggregation, rewire then perform link aggregation again? I have the exact same setup. Thanks. Actually using the Aruba Portal since the switch is 1000's of miles away.

How assign ip address each port?
@NetworkingDojo_AION

1830 is a layer 2 switch, it doesn't support routing. You can only assign a single IP address to a management VLAN.

In this instance it will be .131. Management address will be the address of the primary stack member after stack has been formed.

Hi, is it possible to configure a LACP with 2 port of two different switch in stack using the cloud management?
@sutty101
@sutty101 7 ай бұрын
Looking for this answer my-self. Setting up a 3 member stack of 1960's at the moment and I only seem to be able to make a LACP trunk from a single member from the cloud managment. But want it from Conductor and the 3rd member so I can link both to a Firewall LACP trunk for all VLAN's with device reduncancy on the switch side.

This does not work 100%. There is a bug in the firmware. Stacking works only when using the app, but after switching to local management, it wipes out the stacking configuration. Attempting to reconfigure the stacking as described in this video and after a reboot of the switches, all ports on all switches will start blinking red and never respond. Factory reset is the only way to get the switches back. Perhaps this worked a year ago when this video was released, but at this time, using 1 JL805A (1960 aggregate switch) and 3 JL809A (1960 access switches) connected as shown in the documentation (ring configuration A-B-C-D-A), it does not work without the cloud.😔
@ivalleysupport1151
@ivalleysupport1151 Жыл бұрын
BTW, this does not mean stacking does not work, it just means you must use the app (cloud configuration) for this to work. Unfortunately, this now creates a possible security hole in the network. Anything accessible in your network from an outside source is a potential security risk. The switches are currently running firmware 2.8.0, which is the latest at this time.
@NetworkingDojo_AION
@NetworkingDojo_AION Жыл бұрын
You should only use app (cloud) or local management modes. You are not able to switch between these two without having to go back to factory defaults.

Hi Jason, in our testing that was not the case, we were connecting @ the highest data rate at those distances and even further from the AP.
@NetworkingDojo_AION
@NetworkingDojo_AION Жыл бұрын
Hi Andre, AP15 and AP25 are for those high density environments, and you may need more than one AP depending what those clients are doing on the network. Wi-Fi works on half duplex principle which means the AP can only serve one client at a time. If the clients are doing something bandwidth intensive like high def streaming the AP will only be able to handle a handful of clients before it runs out of airtime. Having a higher spec AP will help but eventually you need to add more APs (on different channels) to handle the load.

I can configure it using a DHCP of my current old LAN (ISP- oldLAN - AP11D) but still I cannot find option how to change IP from Automatic to Static - this option in disabled (grayscalled) in WEB menu. Do you know extra options how to connect to advanced options of AP11D?

my aruba 207 has been blinking for 3 days... i would say it is obviously stuck at the blinking green light. i am thinking there is an issue with it syncing its configurations from the cloud. but i am not entirely sure. if someone could please give some insight in this issue that would be amazing! :)
@NetworkingDojo_AION
@NetworkingDojo_AION 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, if the AP keeps blinking green light then it's stuck at booting, you'll need to connect a console cable to the AP to check for boot errors, or try the factory reset procedure. Also check if you have an IAP-207 or AP-207 (controller-based). Btw, it's an Instant AP, not Instant On AP (can get confusing!) :)
@NetworkingDojo_AION
@NetworkingDojo_AION 2 жыл бұрын
AP-207 requires a controller to setup and run. IAP-207 will work as a standalone AP, you can configure it locally or through Cloud but you will need a Aruba Central Subscription in order to manage through the cloud. You can refer to our Central videos at kzbin.info on how to setup.
