iPhone is great if conditions allow you to use it, ie heavy rain or snow, or even in water, or are you badly injured or have visual issues. iPhone battery life is also poor. With the inreach all you have to do is press the waterproof sos button to hopefully get help.

Maybe it's an "easter egg"!!. Wait until Sept / Oct '24 when they release Watch OS11 with topo maps, which presumably will include known trails. If they do that presumably this feature will make use of trails as well as roads and all of the sudden AWU will be in contention with Garmin for the serious endurance crowd.

Perfect video and you covered the exact differences to make my decision easy. I am switching from an Apple watch, I do not care Siri on the watch and making calls from the watch. I only want call notifications on watch. I want to track my weight training and cardio/HIIT sessions with more accuracy. I am tired of the Apple Watch battery life and limited activity report, also I notice almost 0.1-mile lag on iWatch compared to a treadmill.

I kind of wish I went with the Coros ecosystem instead of Garmin. Coros seems more affordable and has pretty good accuracy.

If youve ever been in the sh*t, and had to press the button on your Garmin....then you know. The iphone isnt a device whose entire purpose is to rescue you when things go sideways. The Garmin is backed by rescue services.

No doubt Apple offers a great product with tons of options but it will still not make me even consider swapping in my Garmin Fenix 7 Pro. I suppose it all comes down to what you want/need a watch for and if you mainly want it as an extension of your phone then Apple is the obvious choice, but if you primarily need it for your sports, training, health and recovery tracking, then nothing beats a good Garmin watch.

So maybe I can use this through day and night and wear some standard watch during day. And have my Cheetah Pro only for sports tracking. Interesting. I will think about it.

Apple Watch because I don’t do multi day events out in the middle of nowhere. Plus, I do many different types of sports and activities.

Waited to upgrade my phone to the 15 from the 12 for this feature and save the cost on a Garmin. Offset one against the other, one device to do it all. Perfect. But yes, I get why people would want both as “all eggs in one basket” comes to mind.

I am really annoyed with Garmin Connect, because it does not allow me to correct mistakes in pool swim data. If the watch misses for adds a length you can't edit that set. If you make a mistake in drill mode, you can't edit or delete that drill. I'm trying to find out if other brands allow editing of pool swims. Any info would be great, cheers.

So you pay allot for the ring and later it stop working if you dont pay up every month... Yea, thats like a bad deal over all That ring is already expensive and get more expensive over time. At that point i would say, dont be stupid and leurn how to live healthy. Its not really that hard. To monitor your heart? Wel there products you buy once and no extra cost afther that are cheaper and still works. I dont like to hate against products, but that price with a subscription afther i can not defend.

Yeah I’m always surprised when people say they down like the crown on watches either and I’m always like I guess I’m in the minority cause I like the crown on watches. I feel like it makes them easier to navigate.

Strange because all other reviews I have seen so far, including DC Rainmaker and also dedicated cycling channels, all seem to be very unimpressed with the Coros Dura and all the quite basic things that do not work but might get fixed somewhere down the road. It may be very competitively priced but if it doesn't do half of what it is supposed to do I would rather pay more and get a tested and proven to work bike computer.

I wear my Fenix 7 24/7, so I don't need your imaginary device. ;) I do understand that some people don't want to (or can not) wear a watch for various reasons. So yeah, I think there's definitely a market that Garmin is missing out on. I do all I can to avoid monthly fees, so Whoop is an instant NO for me.

I only use Apple Music and, sadly, I agree with you. No way they’ll do that. One of the main reasons I might switch to awu is to get easier access to my music and podcasts. Transferring them to my fenix 6x is a pain in the ass and so I end up doing it like twice a year.
