@MattLsBr it'll cause it to have a check engine light on and stuff but as long as you hook the TV cable up proper it should work. The biggest reason I did it was because the 700R was free but also because that poor old van isn't worth spending what it would cost to have the '95 specific model 4l60e rebuilt

@papalio01 I didn't, it still has the factory proportioning valve, but everything seems to work properly. I can't even remember how old this video is now, but I've put a ton of miles on the truck since I did the swap and it's still working great!

Generally I just reach down and ease it out of gear. If it's not under load I don't even have to clutch it

Low and reverse aren't but the rest of the gears are, it shifts pretty smooth. What surprised me the most was how tight the shifter still is, they usually have a ton of slack.

I don't know for a 100 percent fact that it would but I imagine that it could. At one point I had adjusted mine so it wouldn't idle high but then it wouldn't idle period without giving it some throttle input. However it would still start with a tiny bit of throttle.

In the older carburated vans, there was a fast idle screw on the idle cam and electric choke. If you didn't warm them up enough the engine would stall and die. When I got the 88' I was glad this problem was solved by this little device.

Yeah it drives and rides pretty nice! It's kinda harsh over bigger bumps and pot holes just because of the stiff springs but even that isn't terrible. It rides real nice with a load of wood on it or a loaded trailer hooked up 😂
