How does the angle iron hold up after a while. Does the heat make it sag.
@bk912977 жыл бұрын
You can just put cornmeal onto a metal peel and the dough won't stick.

Do you have to keep reheating the fire brick if you cook more pizzas my first pizza came out perfect the next one the bottom of the dough didn't crisp up as much the third one was still soft on the bottom
@pizzaguy53788 жыл бұрын
just keep adding wood to the fire to maintain brick temp, shuffle coals around the brick & then clear the cooking space before your pizza goes on
@Ibodnano8 жыл бұрын
simple and cheap to build, and the most important is it is functional
@Ibodnano8 жыл бұрын
you should clean the oven floor before with a wet cloth before putting in your pizza?
@pizzaguy53788 жыл бұрын
not necessary to clean space, just push coals to the back, as you cook multiple pizzas, you can use a fireplace brush to tidy the area before each pizza goes on
@LR-gy9zf6 жыл бұрын
no. You should be cleaning the floor.

Not trying to start anything but the person who's making the video is right . I to have a pizza oven and you do not need to clean it every time the heat. fro The fire will sterilize everything that the pizza sits on if you want to wipe with a damp towel to wipe the ashes that's fine but it really serves no purpose to clean it other than that after done.

Love your videos! Wish you would make more of you cooking more pies! Could you possibly make a video of how you make your dough?
@pizzaguy53788 жыл бұрын
i just buy dough and leave it in the fridge overnight, then roll it out with flour & put corn meal on the wooden peel before sliding it in

Just wondering what happens when the firebrick gets wet with rain?
@pizzaguy53788 жыл бұрын
nothing happens in rain, but i generally dont cook if its raining hard... i do have a patio umbrella over it in case im cooking & it does rain... its so hot though that small rain shouldnt bother.. when not in use, i have a makeshift shingled roof on it

How come these videos have only 500 views and 2 likes??? This is what DYI people want, not necessarily some instructions on expensive overly complicated plans. And with the infra red temperature gun you can prove you get the same function as the dome model - I always wondered what were the necessary bits of a wood fired pizza ovens and what were just the traditional parts. No need for a flue or chimney because of the gaps in the bricks allow for air flow. And I'm thinking that with some adjustments you could cook some pasta and sauce, or veal scallopini and fried egg plant and a huge pot of spiced red wine on top too, just to round off the banquet. Sure, I'd love a mosaic-covered mini Taj Mahal in my yard like the next bloke, but this will do the job. Pizza oven for $200 bucks, 100 bricks and a few besser blocks and some a bit of furnace cement. This brings wood fired pizza to the common man! :) Really great set of videos, you have a great style and approach. When I replicate your design in Nimbin Australia I'll send you a photo of our first pizza! Great work mate!

Great videos, you are very thorough. But I have a question is there any weird taste that you get from the charcoal and anytime?
@pizzaguy53788 жыл бұрын
i dont use charcoal, just dry wood.. no funny taste but you dont want to cook if wood is smoking.. wait until the wood is whitehot, then youre good to go.. wood may be smokey when youre first firing up the oven
