After emptying the fuel tank, why not just start the engine up and let the carb fuel run out?

Very useful video but it just convinces me that an Aga is not a good idea for an elderly relative living alone. Especially as theirs is also used for the hot water.

Thank you for this great advice! I've watched your other repair video and thought I'd give this a try, although it sounded like just one more "scam" video on YT. It certainly wasn't and I'll pass it on to others.

Thanks for the compliment. I use Pinnacle Studio, mainly because when I started editing about 25 years ago it was the easiest one around. That was using Studio 5. They're now on about version 26! It's been taken over by Coral and is pretty good.

If I was not going to sail round the world again I might think about changing back to gaff rig and topsail with perhaps carbon fibre gaff if it could be made to look wooden. More power down wind and lower centre of gravity....?
@rogermarsh5216
@rogermarsh5216 7 ай бұрын
She was gaff when my family first had her. 1950s, with a longer wooden bowsprit. Looking much like those Beken photos from the '20s or '30s, but with just a wooden deckhouse forward of the wheel. Good to know she is still sailing. Her lovely mahogany-panelled saloon was ripped out when she was subsequently converted to a sail training yacht, by then Bermudan-rigged.

@@rogermarsh5216Must have been interesting owning such a boat. Heaving the gaff up and down must have been quite an effort I imagine but I think there are some advantages as well. Cheaper and less complex rigging which could be quite a saving now you have to replace it every ten years at the insistence of the insurance companies.😗
