I have no business joining this MKAL, but YOU HAD ME AT OCTOPUS!!! I just bought the Giant Pacific kit, not because I need the yarn, but because I NEED the stickers and stitch markers. I'm weak and I'm NOT SORRY 😋🤩

I’ve been knitting for like almost 30 years and ummm i’ve rarely if ever made a gauge swatch. 🙈 i’ve never really understood how to do a gauge swatch tbh and i always want to immediately dive (pun) into a project. but your explanation was truly helpful. i do have a question, since i got the 8 minis, i imagine it is very important to do a gauge swatch, right? i’ve gotten away with not making swatches because 80-90% of the time if i follow your patterns to the T, I find the perfect fit. can i get away with it again? lol 😆 Can’t wait for the MKAL! 🐙🐙🐙

Ah, I actually talk about this a bit more in the pattern... did you knit cowl mkal last year with a kit from susi and get gauge? If so, you can use the same ndl size you used for that!

A request: About a billion (at least) possible viewers of your channel knit in metric. Pretty please give the needle sizes in metric as well…for all your content…. I am about to look up what US 6 and 7 are for those who are NOT the 350 million US residents 😮. Thanks in advance 😊

I read all the time, but recently have been revisiting books I read a long time ago. Some are free on Audible with your your membership and some aren’t. I recently listened to all the Elizabeth Peters books. She also wrote as Barbara Michaels. I love all her books. You can’t go wrong with any of them.

I'm listening to 'A Darker Shade of Magic' trilogy by V.E. Schwab again. (According to my library I read it every 2 years.) I love all the books I've read by her so far. And I like the other books by Gregory Maguire (who wrote 'Wicked.') 'Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister' is my favorite so far.

“She Said” by Jodi Kantor & Megan Twohey was very good, it’s about the Weinstein Investigations. “Stiff” by Mary Roach I’ve listened to for the 3rd time now which is about the “strange lives our bodies have postmortem”. Oh & “Clay & Bones” by Lisa G. Bailey is about what it’s like to be a forensic artist, especially as a woman in a boys club. Sorry I mostly read science type stuff & horror/mystery 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ah books. So many to choose from. I just listened to "The Women" by Kristen Hanna. Highly recommend. I am now listening to "The Nightingale" which is also very good. I am also working my way through Velshi's Banned Book Club Books. “A Big Mooncake for Little Star” by Grace Lin is a really cute children's book on the list.

The (almost only) good thing about cognitive decline is that I’m enjoying rereading entire series with very few spoilers. I’ve also been enjoying relistening to books I previously slept through. I’ve also started a few books lately that I did not enjoy. I was captivated by Melanie Dobson’s Memories of Glass. It’s excellent historical fiction, set mostly in WWII Holland. I’ve become a bit stuck on WWII historical fiction as it seems to connect me with my father. That’s a bit odd considering he was too young to join his brothers in the Navy until after VJ Day.

I've been reading or more accurately listening to a lot of books lately. Some of my favorite rom coms I've read recently are Hannah Tate Beyond Repair, The Seven Year Slip, and Hello Stranger. I'm not typically a historical fiction fan, but Frozen River was a great story. In a different genre, Science Fiction, sometime last year I discovered the joy that is John Scalzi. Some of his books are more traditional SciFi, others are much lighter and very humorous - while some of this are a bit older, I highly recommend: Agent to the Stars; Fuzzy Nation, The Kaiju Preservation Society, and Starter Villain.

Thank you for another great live. I was in Dublin, Ireland last month. I visited the "This Is Knit" yarn store. I dropped your name; I was elated when they said they know you! Have you visited the Avoca Mill in Wicklow, Ireland? I found it extremely interesting. You asked what book I would recommend reading, well I've been trying to find at my local libraries the book "Listen for The Lie" by Amy Tintera. This was recommended by a knitting group friend. I hope it is worth the read. I hope you have a safe trip to Ireland.

I’ve just finished the “Sugar PlumPoisoned” which is the latest in Jenn McKinlay’s Cupcake Bakery Series. I enjoy these because I can knit with them and still follow a pattern or drive with them and not miss my turn or exit. I have just started Hex Files by Gina LaManna. It is one that my husband could also listen to so we listened when we went to the Bronx VA for his appointment and also when we went to the NYS fair. Since he always wants to drive it has enough to keep him awake but not distract him. Happy listening!

I just read Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu and am almost done with the second book in the trilogy, Dark Forest. Great science fiction from a Chinese author who happens to be female, with some compelling characters. Interestingly, there is a Netflix series that has taken some great liberties with characters and plot, but was decent on its own (although I'd suggest reading the books first so the series makes more sense).

Wuuuut??? This is like choosing a favorite child!! This has been a toughie for me -- I went back and forth (and back again) between Open Minds and Creatrix, but have finally decided that Creatrix is my fav. Open minds is so much fun because everytime I knit it, it is a "new" pattern with all the variations available. But... Creatrix just speaks to me in every way with her construction and lace and beads and just EVERYTHING. She gets me. She totally gets me <3
