When I was in Elementary School, I rode the bus to school this song was broadcasted by the local country music radio station on the radio and the kids went crazy over Dolly Parton's singing voice.

I've always enjoyed the Fenderman's classic but Dolly's is starting to grow on me more.

No one but Dolly Parton could pull off singing "Mule Skinner Blues" while wearing a bright yellow dress, big hair, and stiletto heels.

I wish they’d shown the band. That sound (production) is all Porter Wagoner. Few know how influential he was (Dolly says so).
If you looked up the word 'lady' in the dictionary, you would find a picture of Dolly Parton.

Me too. My family used to sing this in the early 80's. They've all passed on now so this is a sentimental song for me ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I love the combination of Dolly Parton all made up with the hair, the make-up, the beautiful dress and shoes, but yodeling by summoning the power of her rural Tennessee upbringing.

Back in the day this was the song that made me a fan of Dolly Parton way back in 1970. All these years later, my respect for her continues to grow. If you haven't heard them yet, I recommend Dolly's cover of The Story, a song by Brandi Carlyle, and her cover of Purple Rain on her 2023 rock album Rockstar.

They tried to induct her into the Rock and Roll hall of fame. She didn't think she'd earned that honor, and politely declined. INTEGRITY.

It was too late. Voting ballots had already been mailed out. So when she was voted in, Dolly graciously accepted. She had thought only rock stars were members. Once Dolly was told there were members who weren't rock either, it made her see the issue differently. Her friends Brenda Lee and Wanda Jackson were already members.

"Mule Skinner Blues" is a country music classic, and a difficult song to sing i.e, hitting and sustaining the notes, the syncopation and the breath control required. Dolly does it justice!
