I just used this kit on my 2020 Civic last week. Mine weren’t yellow but they started getting oxidation. This works. They look like they did when I purchased the car off the lot. Follow the instructions. It’s impossible to mess up. On the last step just make sure to go over any part of the headlight that you think you may have missed. There is a QR code in the box that links to a detailed instructional video from the company that walks you through everything. I can’t speak more highly about this kit.

Nice but I would have protected the junction box cutout of the LED fixture with some sort of plastic attachment into the box to protect the wire over time.. Small detail but overall makes total sense.

Cool video. I recently created a “Combat Closet” since I didn’t have a space to create a “War Room”. Turned out great. Added steel plating to the walls to slow down anyone trying to cut through the drywall, as well as a keypad & biometric door lock. I also added a battery operated Ring camera. It’s nice to have that extra bit of security by getting cellphone alerts if someone (fortunately only family members so far!) access the closet, it records the incident, plus it has 2-way communication and night vision. Definitely worth the $50 when the Ring cam goes on sale.

When scraping old glue off concrete flip the scraper over constantly it helps with keeping a sharp blade . Also the longer handle Crain scrapers with large rubber ball end handle work best for leverage . I put a 1 inch PVC T on the handle it keeps your palms from getting sore while scraping

Always float laminate . It's designed to be a monolithic unit that moves together . Some of the engineered floors are designed to be able to do both as well . They must have tighter tolerance tongue and groove and you glue the T & G together . If you purchase and install one yourself follow manufacturers instructions to the letter . The reps will use poor installation as an excuse to void your warranty . Avoid SHAW products as their goal is to deny all claims ( this was told to me by a close friend that was a sales rep for them ) he said after Berkshire Hathaway bought out Shaw they were told NOT to warranty anything PERIOD .

Super helpful! This is the exact light kit I'd bought myself and your info about how to handle wiring for a light in a multi-light situation helped answer a question I had run into. It was also helpful to see that just because the joist is right above the drywall doesn't mean I need to shift where the hole will be. I used 1/2" plastic knockout bushings to protect the wires - about 50 cents each. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much. I was really struggling with this rod. It surprisingly is more of a two person job just to get the right amount of tension. I finally got it up there after 30ish minutes but once I finish painting my bathroom I plan to just imitate you and screw this shower rod into the wall. Thanks so much for your video!

I think you might be a little critical on this product it stinks by design it's a super heavy duty paint that is meant to be super durable you have good tips on the respirator I just got done painting my bathtub and shower I'm not a painter by any means I had drips myself technique definitely helps I do agree they should give you more paint as far as the bubbles I believe that is due to to aggressively mixing which they specifically say not to do also your color choice black will probably show most imperfections also by design of the color let's face it all looks away the hell better than It used to 👍

I will admit I have been impressed with how well it is holding up I have seen no damage to it. I'm sure if I had more experience with the product I would learn some tips and tricks to improve the finished result. Personally I would not recommend the product for a DIYer or at least those with limited painting and epoxy experience. Its not a forgiving product, virtually no room for mistakes which does not lend to being DIY friendly. I did try to do a fair amount of research on how to use the product but after my experience with it those videos I found were not adequate. My biggest issue with using the product again is the smell. The respirator is an absolute necessity but getting the smell out of the house is difficult especially if the bathroom does not have a window which my bathroom did not.

I was doing this today and literally got everything I needed correct, but no matter what I did, the toilet would never have enough pressure. It makes absolutely no sense to me
@thediygrunt
@thediygrunt 28 күн бұрын
You have two different adjustments on the valve. One to adjust how much water is in the bowl and one for how much is in the tank. If you are having pressure issues I assume you mean not enough water is being released to flush everything right? First make sure the tank has enough water. Inside the tank usually on the back right you will have a line it will say "water level" or something along those lines. With the tank full the water should be right around that level, if it is not you need to make adjustments and then flush to reset the tank. Most likely your issue is the water level in the bowl. If you have to little water in the bowl and go to flush you will not have enough water released from the tank to generate the pressure you need to flush everything. So you need to increase the water level in the bowl if this is the issue. Make your adjustment and then flush to reset the level to the new adjustment. Most of the valves have instructions that typically say drop like 2-4 pieces of toilet paper in the bowl to simulate flushing liquid and 4-8 pieces to simulate flushing solids. If it fails to flush all the pieces then adjustments have to be made to the water level in the bowl. Most tanks are made to hold enough water for the toilet to be able to flush twice back to back so the chances your water level in the tank is the problem is slim. At minimum the tank should have enough to do one proper flush even if the water level is low but make sure to check both levels and adjust them if necessary. Oh I almost forgot check to make sure the flapper is opening all the way and staying open long enough to do a proper flush. Adjust the flapper by tightening or loosening the tension on the chain that connects the flush level to the flapper. I hope this helps.

Im upgrading to the fluidmaster too. Can i keep the old fill line and flipper? I would need to remove entire tank to replace everything.
@thediygrunt
@thediygrunt Ай бұрын
Yes you can keep those if they are still good. You can replace just the valve if you want or replace everything in the tank. You can find different kits at the store depending on what you want to do.

Can someone confirm if this rod stays up well on drywall?
@thediygrunt
@thediygrunt 28 күн бұрын
If you are doing a tension mount it is better than a cheap tension mount bar. The larger surface area that the ends of the rod have compared to a smaller cheap tension rod allows for a stronger tension mounted installation.

Great project, only suggestion to consider is the door jams the door hinges are a good choice. As a Fire Captain I have breached many many secure doors with a Halligan Tool. Literally in seconds. Adding steel door frames with big strong lag bolts makes busting through much harder. Not criticizing at all just food for thought. I built mine and my buddy said watch this! Redo.

@thediygrunt unfortunately most of them are, not enough corpsman pursue the medical field after their enlistment ends. It wasn't their vast knowledge of combat medicine that made them great, it was their compassion for the guys they were serving and serving with. Severe lack of that at the VA. Rant over. lol I was joking about the cancer but I did know a guy who had that medical issue and lost one of his nuts to it while in service and still had issues with the VA when he got out. So yeah the VA sucks most of the time, I have lucked out and had some good care by a doctor for a specific issue that they diagnosed, operated and post oped all in like 3 weeks so it is rare but some people at the VA are trying.

Nice use of an empty closet space. Personally I would have laid in two layers of cement board on all three sides and then the bead board. Reasoning for this is that I become more resistant to attack from the sides or back if there is only drywall and bead board. As for the door I personally would eliminate the vent holes as they are easily knocked out allowing anyone to look into the closet. You can still place squares of plywood over the openings with 1/2” spacers, this way you will have ventilation while providing some interference from someone pulling the plugs. I stick with desiccant bags and place them in the oven to dry them out every two months. Now for storage of long guns vertical is nice but one has to aware that if you have wooden stocks on any firearms, oil will migrate to the bottom and wind up infusing wooden stocks with oil. For anything with wood I prefer to keep it horizontal, space permitting. Modern firearms with synthetic of metallic stocks I will keep vertical. When using these electronic locks, it’s a good idea to keep the buttons clean with isopropyl alcohol. For a pro thief they could use black volcano powder to dust the keypad and will see what keys are continually pressed. This is the same powder used by detectives on crime scenes for finger print lifting except in this case they will show a pro thief which buttons are being used to open the lock. It eliminates trying all ten keys.
