Any leakage between the 2 magnet ends to worry about?
@customerservice9263
@customerservice9263 2 ай бұрын
We calibrate our magnets to have a 10-12lb pull force to separate. There is also a a taper to the body and a protrusion on the union which creates a great seal and provides a leak free connection. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions at all.

It seems a good idea. But my high school science tells me heat gets rid of magnetism. Am I missing anything here?
@customerservice9263

We use a custom made ceramic ferrite magnet which does not lose it's magnetism with heat. If you were to use a neodymium or similar magnet yes it would most definitely lose its magnetism.

I strongly suspect that the temperatures on these magnets will be waaayyy below the temperatures required to weaken/remove a magnetic field. You can google that question to verify my premise.

When I bought mine I loved it, it worked great on installation, the hose piece found the magnet and made an extremly strong connection, However, the dryer shifted just a little and the magnet connected to the wall bracket easily came loose and lint is all over the wash room. The clips on the wall bracket just aren't strong enough to keep the magnet from breaking loose from the wall bracket. The wall bracket needs stronger clasps or some kind of mechanical connection, a simple threaded hole and a screw would fix the problem. The clips and bumps on the magnet just arent a good enough connection. The magnet to hose is so much stronger then the wall connection. Its a great idea but you need to fix how the magnet attaches to the wall, if you have a retrofit please send me a one. I cant keep worrying about it looseing connection and cleaning up lint. I still like the idea.

Thank you for your comment and feedback. The clips that are on the mounting bracket are adjustable as they are spring steel. You can simply push them in towards the center a little bit and this will increase the tension that is placed on the wall side body. This should fix problem. Thank you again for your comment.

I am looking at this system as a viable option to address access difficulties, as the attic entrance is directly above the washer and dryer & that is, in a cupboard. The problem is when the duct was installed by the contractor. He placed a fully adjustable elbow in the opening and part of that elbow at the joint protrudes a good 1/4 inch past the face of the drywall on the top edge. And the straight part of the elbow is about another inch beyond that. My question is looking at your MV-Flex drawing the male portion that fits into the wall duct. Will it clear the elbow and allow the mounting plate to fit flush after the excess metal on the outside of the drywall is removed?

Now your magvent cant insert because some idiot decided to risk setting your house on fire!!! ...would have been geat if you were able to show the complete install up through the ceiling. I'm curious to know how everyone is getting the 4" duct through the top plate. I have metal stud framing and it's a real doozy getting the pipe into the tight space of the attic to vent through the roof. It also seems that it's almost impossible to adhere to the letter of the code when installing dryer ventsin an older these days... especially if you're laundry room isn't on an exterior wall 🤦‍♂

As long as you use a good quality dryer hose (such as Dryer Flex by Innovate) the hose should stay intact. We calibrate our magnets to ensure they are strong enough to keep a tight connection but not too strong to help with the concern of the hose tearing. Thank you for your comment and we will keep your concerns in mind when filming our future videos.

If you purchase the hose they recommend, it shouldn’t tear apart. It’s not the cheap, foil hose that you find in big box stores that tears easily.

The magnets actually release with 5-8 lbs of pull force. Sometime the flex hose slips off of the dryer vent, so we recommend wrapping the dryer vent with some aluminum tape to add texture for the hose clamp to grip.

My dryer vents straight out. It is up against an outside wall of a very old house. 1915 aged house. Have alot of lint dust in the house and have had a repair man her multiple times still have lint dust. The washer and dryer and not even 3 years old. Bought the set new. The dryer sits out 3 inches more then the washer. Wish this box could lay on its side. Want to move th dryer to a different wall and move the washer also. But the box would still have to be on its side due to a bedroom above the laundry room. Love this old house. The pervious owners were very old and moved the laundry upstairs from the unfinished basement. Who ever did the work slapped it together. The washer has 2 different hook ups. 1 coming up through the floor that looks to be 60 yrs old. Also has a wall hook up. How ever that one I guess is for looks because it's not even plummed in to be used. Was nice shower when installing them to the newer wall hook up only to fnd out the floor hook up was the only working one when we turned the water on. Good times!!

I just installed my mv90 outside of a dryer box, because of a concrete ledge on the bottom corner of the floor behind the dryer (so it couldn't fit in the stud bay). It was simple to use even one tapcon screw on the mv90 positioning bracket to make it position right where it was needed! After that, the magvent linned up perfectly with my dryer duct! I should say to TEST MOVING THE DRYER IN **AND** OUT. Why? To test and retest both the brackets connection to the wall And To test the hold of ring clamp, holding the end of the magvent part ON THE DRYER. I emphasize this the way I do since I had to tighten to ring clamp on the dryer much tighter than I expected to achieve a solid hold. Anyways, when all is said and done, it really does work perfectly, and looks pretty damn good too. It's around $95 Canadian to get one of these, but so so worth it. Thanks for the fire caulk advice btw! I was just going to use foil duct tape alone before seeing this. Great video!

So not an air tight connection? is it safe for gas dryers ? (don't want carbon monoxide leaking) Also what about the magnets attracting bobby pins, pens, money, wouldn't that clog or cause the debris to help form a stop with the lint.(kind of like when there's a bend in flex piping or top mounted lint trap on the dryer) (if you take dryers apart you know there's almost always debris at the bottom of the top mounted lint trap) just some things to think about for the engineers. Would have like to see this as a fresh install where there is already finished walls, because I know it's twice as hard to install these boxes.
@customerservice9263
@customerservice9263 2 жыл бұрын
The connection is air tight and yes it is safe for gas dryers. As far as the magnets attracting bobby pins etc. , yes it is possible but the main lint trap should catch most of these items and we have yet to have any issues or customer complaints about this happening. If this were to be an issue, as you mentioned it happens with regular flex hose, the MagVent makes removal of a restriction a lot easier as you do not have to deal with getting behind the dryer to disconnect and reconnect the hose. We would love to shoot a video of an installation with the drywall already in place, and we hope to have that content available in the future. Thank you for your feedback.

@@customerservice9263 was just curious about that, I haven't ran into any of those yet. And my apologies was not trying to discredit it just wondering about that because, when I think about the carbon monoxide getting out, some of the people don't seal the vents sometimes so that's what I worry about it. A good product though!!! Good job I'm coming up with something so revolutionary for dryer installation.

Dryer should not shake, maybe a slight vibration, but no shaking. The most likely problem is the leveling feet are not properly adjusted. If your installer thinks shaking is normal you need a new installer.
