I would try Hamlet or Othello. Othello is fun and tragic IMO because Iago is just so EVIL. Also, reading it as Iago is gay and in love with Othello gives it an interesting twist. I was a high school teacher for 16 years and would love to give you my TpT unit on Hamlet if you're interested! I've been a fan of your work for a few years now. Can't wait for your 10th grade plan videos to come out!

Ordinary Monsters sounds amazing, I'm so excited to read that one! The God of Endings also sounds very promising, and I live in upstate NY. I don't think I've read anything with vampires since True Blood, haha. I think I'm too disturbed by reality to read a book about reproductive dystopia right now

Hi! Long time watcher, first time commenter. I’m an English teacher (currently 8th grade but have taught Kindergarten, 6th-8th, and 11th & 12th). I’m also a long time lover of Shakespeare- Macbeth is one of my top five favorites and we study it every October/November. I have been at an all girls school for a few years now and they love it more than any mixed gender class I’ve ever taught. I love it for the witches but the murders are fun too. :) She might enjoy Titus Andronicus as a 10th grade read. It’s the most brutal of his plays and my favorite Shakespeare of all time. It’s so brutal it often gets ignored for production these days but it’s well worth the read. Julius Cesar might be a good fit too. Not so many murders or vengeance themes but that betrayal is pretty gut wrenching. Hamlet is pretty fun story wise but he’s such a whiner…might not want to follow the Macbeth power couple up with all that melancholia. I’ll be excited to see what you do choose. Thanks for your channel. I get a lot of inspiration for book pairings and further reading recommendations for my girls from all the work you do here.

I wholeheartedly agree that just the fact that you are a woman doesn't mean that you cannot be lying....I don't believe any person should just be believed without any kind of proof whatsoever and I know there are some situations where proof can be near impossible but I just do not like the thought that people can go to jail or worse based only on someone else's words. That terrifies me.

I think the problem we have the opposition of views in today's society(and honestly it has probably always been this way but the ease of how people can insert themselves now is ridiculous) is that way too many people think that their opinions or thoughts are important lol....like your thoughts/opinions/view points/decisions are yours to make for yourself but only yourself....every other person also has the right to theirs alone....no one person is so important that they have the right to tell someone else what they should do or feel or be but it seems like too many people seem to think they for some reason are just so amazing and almighty that they have the right to impose themselves and dictate these things for others

I spent this past week reading the Wayward Children series, and finalizing my Summerween TBR. I too, ended up with what might be a delusional TBR for July. My Summerween TBR includes; Something read in the dark: Diavola by Jennifer Thorne Horror or thriller: Tender Is The Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica Title with five or more words: What Lies In The Woods by Kate Alice Marshall Takes place in summer: A House At The Bottom Of A Lake by Josh Malerman Night sky cover: You're Not Supposed To Die Tonight by Kalynn Bayron I added two anthologies that may or may not get included in the week of Summerween; Queer Little Nightmares and The Black Girl Survives In This One My Book Club Picks include As Long As The Lemon Tree Grows by Zoulfa Katouh and Middle of the Night by Riley Sager And I have this months Buzzwordathon pick and last months I didn't get to, which adds Half Soul by Olivia Atwater and Knock, Knock, Open Wide by Neil Sharpson. Keeping with the Summer vibes, I added Fantastic Land to by August TBR though, so I can't wait to see your own thoughts on it!

What was the title of the book you read a few months ago that talked about a president making America great again. The author has passed. It was written in the 1980s I think. Her name started with an O . Olivia maybe or Oveda? She wrote a sequel too but you wasn’t ready for it because the other book blew you away. I thought I had it saved in my Amazon but I can’t find it. Thank you!

Do you think The Tenth Mistake of Hank Hooperman is too low of a reading level for a 14 year old boy? My son is pretty immature and probably only reads right at grade level, so I wondered if it may work for him. I think he'd be interested in the story

I seldom manage to read books when they first come out unless it's something specific I'm waiting for, it takes me a while to hear about them and I guess I'm kind of waiting to see whether other people like them or not. How do you find out about new releases? Are they recommended to you by something like good reads or are you looking through a particular online source?

I spend WAY too much time researching books - I don't have one resource, but I spend a lot of time here on KZbin, on Goodreads, Googling authors and looking for specific things like new historical fiction, etc. I'm also a reviewer, so I discover a lot of books through NetGalley and directly through publishers.
