Absolutely stunning, Karen! I'm in East Tennessee. The devastation from hurricane Helene to fellow Tennessean's and our neighbors in North Carolina seems unreal. There are no connecting roads from Tennessee to North Carolina currently, entire counties are gone. This was a nice way to distract my mind for a bit. Please remember everyone in your prayers. Thank you Karen! I tried to order the book but it’s not on Amazon (must be sold out). I’ll have to keep trying. I’m so sorry about the arthritis in your hands. I too have arthritis in my hands. Have you tried paraffin wax dips? It’s very therapeutic and feels so good. It’s used in Physical Therapy. Basically you dip your hands in the paraffin bath several times then put a plastic baggie over them. For extra benefit I use some warmed mittens made for warming in the microwave and put them over the baggies. Just make sure you don’t get them too hot. Then relax on the couch for as long as they remain warm. When you are finished remove the baggies and pull the wax off as you go so it’s in the bag. Your hands will be soft and will feel so good. It’s also used in nail salons. I bought the “Therabath” on amazon and it comes with a started supply of wax and baggies. Therabath is a little more pricey, but I went thru several “Homedics” brand and decided to spend a little more money. I think it was worth it. I hope this helps, we need you doing these wonderful videos!!

They aren't the best watercolors in the world.. but the nice thing is they are pretty much all coordinated convenience colors so they are great if you just want to pick a palette and paint without having to constantly mix to get muted natural colors, or struggle to decide what colors go together. In fact they struggle to mix because they contain so many pigments already.. some as many as eight pigments in a single color. They tend to go muddy really quick.. do better with just dropping them into one another or glazing. I owned all of them at one time.. I bought a bunch when they went on clearance at Hobby Lobby and other stores that stopped selling them. Decadent pies is really lovely, I like Odyssey as well, and the Tropical palette if you like clear brights. Terrain is very fall, but a bit limited since it doesn't have any blue. Vintage is beautiful but quite opaque due to the amount of white in the pastels, that's just the nature of pastel watercolor though. If you are ever in the market for a really nice little watercolor palette I suggest the Daniel Smith ultimate mixing set. The palette itself is more of a case than a functional palette.. but I've always preferred ceramic for mixing anyway. The colors were chosen by Jane Blundell for the best set of mixing pigments she could pick.. and it's a great selection. Everything you need to mix almost any color including some fun extras like several granulators, buff titanium, and Jane's grey which is just burnt sienna and ultramarine but it's nice to have a premade grey sometimes. It's small and compact and a little goes a long way due to the quality. I'm not the biggest Daniel Smith fan.. they have some pretty serious issues with lightfastness and the whole debacle with the primateks being falsely advertised, but I do enjoy that palette a lot. I have a painting in my living room done with it that is in perfect condition after four years.

This is the only palette of their watercolours that I have and I use it all the time! I want all of them :) thank you for sharing!

Your color combinations are beautiful in this crystal snowflake. Over the last few years of watching you color all styles of designs I've noticed you often use ink pads with various size sponges with handles. You are able to make such a soft gradient of colors - may I ask which brand you use? And do you have a favorite group of colors? Thank you 😊

I can't get over how amazing this is. I've never seen anything like it. The talent is just in a different league. I have difficulty putting three colours together. My books are best left uncoloured, I may ruin them. Extreme frustration. I am in complete awe of your work. It's a feast for the eyes!
