Haha, the whole time you were saying "wtf" I kept thinking "Well, if you think this one is weird, go watch Rubber Johnny and come back." and that is basically exactly what you did.

Windowlicker helps a lot of people realize they like a lot of lame shit. This isn't aimed at you in particular. Aphex Twin does work.

When I was 27, my friend told me we're smoking a joint and then he's showing me a music video. I've been in love ever since.

Wayyy too much pausing the video. It’s a reaction video, not analyzing every 5 seconds of the video. Couldnt get through this.

This used to be on MTV all the time back when it showed music, but I think it was in a much abbreviated state to just before the stretch limo arriving. I don't know why it's traumatising? I always found it hilarious. Even now I couldn't stop myself laughing when she turns around and they back off in horror. The music wasn't that bad either, but for me it was the combination of the video and the music that was great.

I showed this to a couple of my mates for the first time while we were tripping on acid. I have a vivid recollection of looking over at one of them during it and seeing him just rocking back and forth on the corner of his couch. Like perched on the corner of his couch. Still one of the funniest nights of my life. I think i might be a bad person.

I'm horribly late to this party, but this was a fun reaction, and very much reminded me of the night I first saw it on MTV 25 years ago. It was daytime banned there, so you were only able to see it past midnight local time. Of course I didn't fully grasp the satire of it all at first. 127 uses of profanity before the tune even kicks in. They were deliberately (duh) aiming for some kind of a record there, which probably still hasn't been broken to this day.

I just want to address a couple points and then leave with an anecdote. First point, Jon Gomm is amazing and I recommend checking out his KZbin page. He has some more recent videos that are also mind blowing. Second point. Your friend is right. Build up those callouses. I'm a drummer, but I know learning any instrument isn't fun at first, but you have to get through those points. Once you do get past them it becomes fun and then you can work on becoming better. The anecdote: I read a story years ago that Jon was accidentally booked at a metal festival. He performed and was so well received by the metal crowd that he was invited back the following year.

This video was uploaded shortly before their first US-tour. So the decision to make it a live-video for an album track was partly to hype the crwod and show them a sneak peak for what they would expect.

He's a really nice guy, he makes it so complicated because he has do much going off in his head it helps him shut it down. I sat in a small pub some 18 years, ago watching him play to about ten people, his friend had made flyers that said "the new jimi hendrix" on the bar. I said that a bit much isn't it to him and he said Yeh I feel really embarrassed about it. Then he played and I just shut up as my jaw hit the floor. 😊 Truely a nice guy.
