I definitely understand the feeling of overwhelm when working on a big project. Maybe you can make your blanket in squares, then connect them all together. Completing a square can give you a sense of accomplishment in the middle of your project. ❤

@@knitone2312 Hello 👋🏽, some of the items I create for my KNIT A THON are crocheted 🧶 and not created on the circular knitting machine. This fundraiser for The American Cancer Society is geared towards daily knit or crochet of any kind. I personally decided to donate the items that I created and want to create as much as I can in these 30 days in November - that’s why I decided to use the knitting machine. Hand knitting is perfectly fine. I hope that answers your question.

Looking beautiful as always . My question is how do you maintain it ? It certainly is an option … I was thinking about cutting the back very low but I think I may need to wear it up sometimes so I am still sitting on the fence
@ImJanetSmithАй бұрын
@@charlessandra Thank you so much! 💖 To maintain my cut, I’ll be continuing my same routine, but now I have new styling options thanks to the shape of my haircut. I hydrate my hair on Wednesdays and Saturdays, co-washing on Wednesdays and shampooing, conditioning, moisturizing, and applying gel on Saturdays. This routine keeps my curls healthy and defined. My hair has major shrinkage-if I just add water and do nothing else, it looks like a TWA (teenie weenie Afro). But when I keep my hair saturated during styling with moisturizer & styling gel, and then set the style under my hooded dryer it holds the shape and look longer. Hydrated hair is elongated hair for me! At night, I faithfully protect my strands with a satin (stretch) scarf, and I typically wear low-manipulation hairstyles to reduce the need for excessive daily fluffing. With this new shape, I’ll still be able to incorporate styles like wash-and-gos, roller sets, twists, twist-outs, headwraps, and both highly defined and fluffy styles. For October 2024, during my #2024CurlVlog, I’m focusing on fluffy styles with a “no gel” theme. It’s all about embracing that natural volume! If you’re thinking about cutting the back low but want the flexibility to wear the top up, a low taper could work well for you. You’ll have a clean shape in the back while keeping enough length up top to style as you like. Chatting with your stylist could help you get the best of both worlds! I know it’s a big decision, but I’m sure whatever you choose will look beautiful!

It looks like she wasn’t very familiar with hydrating and defining the way we do, especially when she asked you did you want to sit under the dryer and patting your hair. I had to take a double look when I first saw it was you on this video! 😂 The shape looks good. I can’t wait to see it when you style it! 😊 My experience: years ago I went to a natural stylist for a tapered cut. I wasn’t doing wash and goes then but I was doing twist outs. I left with an Afro too but did a twist/roller set when I got home and loved that cut!
@ImJanetSmithАй бұрын
@@Nzingathegem You are absolutely correct! 😊 When I style my hair I stay in the shower the entire time because of the amount of water I use. She actually squeezed water out of my hair before styling 🤭I'm sure it was to avoid constant dripping, but no water bottles were used along with the styling products-just leave in spray. My biggest need from this appt was the cut. I like that she cut as soon as I came in and again after shampooing. Pros & Cons for sure. I'm looking forward to my next wash day. It will still be fluffy because I'm not using gel this month, but it will have more definition.

@@Yvonne-cq1pq Thanks so much for sharing your experience! I’m sorry to hear that your visit didn’t go as smoothly as you’d hoped. It’s definitely frustrating when things like the dryer or diffusing are skipped because they can really impact the final result. I had a good experience at Ulta, I'm used to sitting under the hooded dryer and was surprised when she "asked" me "if" I wanted to sit under there...but I understand that every location and stylist can be different. If you give it another try, you could ask for those steps to be done to make sure you leave with the result you want. Thanks again for watching and commenting-I really appreciate it!
