Add 1/8th tsp in rich fruit cake (or what we call plum cake in Kerala, South India). It makes your home aromatic along with Cinnamon (1/4 tsp) and 1/8th tsp All Spice (may also add 1/8th tsp cloves and 1/8 tsp ginger). Also milk tea (cow's milk, none of those unholy nut milk) and cardamom is a match made in Heaven! Manischewitz wine is the best to soak fruits - when you open that jar after 2-3 months (minimum), that sinfully lovely scent can melt even the stoniest of hearts!

I just discovered the pink "pepper" trees here around Los Angeles. Thought I had to dry them before using and yes, I did "gunk" up my pepper grinder. Fun to learn how else I can use them!

Just used cardamom today for the very first time in “sour dough” cinnamon rolls. They were delicious with a bit of a floral note. Next, I will add it to a plain cookie recipe to fully enjoy the unique flavor. Glad to find you here. All the seeds were not dark. Thinking perhaps they we not ripe???

I disagree about them clogging your pepper mill. I put them in with black peppercorns and mix it together in the grinder. It’s never clogged it. I use it a lot on everything especially fish.

When you do the butter baste with garlic, and perhaps rosemary over a steak in cast iron. Toss a few in there. Next level stuff there.

I bought some sumac via ebay and spent a good bit of money for it. It came in a sealed factory bad. I put it on my hummus, and it tasted like NOTHING. I might as well have put saw dust on the hummus. So what I want to know is does it have to be hydrated to release the flavor?
