Can't see Draisaitl leaving Edmonton. But if he does and goes to Toronto, you bet your ass McDavid joins him to play with Matthews in his hometown.

C'mon guys you know as well as alot of fans that J.T has got to waive his trade clause...or take a huge reduction to help free up cap space...it will only help the team move fwd..he tried to polish himself up for team Canada and failed again...lets just move on with this guy.

I don’t think Tavares will be traded more like possibly resigned for 2 or 3 years by 4 million per then he retires after so it’s going to come down to marner being dealt there are plenty of teams in which treliving could deal him to This is a trade I am hoping for marner lilejgren jarnkrok abruzzesse to Calgary for markstrom Anderson 1 st 2024 2nd 2025 this gets the leafs a number 1 goalie to play with woll and mentor him a top 2 defence man to play with Reilly and a 1 st and 2 Nd they could use at the draft or trade towards another defence man like chychrun and sign pesce that would be a excellent defence core of Reilly Anderson chychrun pesce McCabe Benoit Webber

John Tavares is a player, the problem with him playing with the Leafs, is that he is forced to play more defence then offence, because he knows that the leafs were lacking the defence and was expected to play a more defensive style of play, because the younger players like Nylander and Matthews were NOT playing defence especially, when Tavares had to play with Nylander that wasn't playing defence at all... Now you see what JT can do, when he only has to play offensive and not covering up for Nylander!!!
@carlostavares60704 сағат бұрын
Does not matter what he dies over there. Overpriced player for the leafs. He has handcuffed the leafs for years. U guys are barking up the wrong tree.

Nobody cares what Tavares does outside of his play in the NHL. It actually pisses fans off that he plays better for a tournament than he does his own team. He def needs to go.
@A.Zivkovic5 сағат бұрын
JT playing well at the Worlds is irrelevant. His playoffs were a month ago. That's when he needed to rewind the clock and play well. His Worlds play will NOT carry over into next season. Anyone who thinks it will is the same person who has had their buried in the sand over the past 8 seasons thinking we should just keeping running it back cause eventually it'll be different.
@kevingoodwin51774 сағат бұрын
He is still well above average and his performance last year proved that... but he is more like a 6 million a year guy now ... not 12. He should get another 60 points this year. Over the last decade he has not been the problem with the Leafs.

The Oil have 7 forwards as UFA's this off-season + 2 D in Stecher & Desharnais. They have about 10M in cap space. Not sure how that's all going to work out. I don't envy Holland.

Tavares looks great because of the larger ice surface with minimal hitting. Old legs look young travelling W/E on larger rink than N/S smaller rink. He's a 3rd/4th line centre that's not physical. Just what the Leafs don't need.
@derekpaddon95536 сағат бұрын
So you have to remember ... The worlds have bigger ice , that bodes well for slower players theres more room for him to get up to speed and gives him more time to think. Things arnt as clogged up. You cant look at this and assume hes going to do this next season its a different animal on NHL ice youre missing super important facts,
@bigdave84376 сағат бұрын
Kampf is overpaid, but not by much. Doesn't complain, while playing solid D, finishes his checks & is reliable. He's capable of 20-30 points assuming he's playing with slightly better players than Reaves or Gregor. He was constantly buried in D-zone starts, but produced 19 pts inspite of that impediment. He was the 2nd line C for Czechia, so is he really just a 4th liner, or is he capable of more? I think he's got more up-side.
@davecochrane16336 сағат бұрын
He was playing against much lesser players....and not teams filled with NHL rosters... i DO like JT, but would not use this competition as a marker for saying he is back....i hope he proves me wrong tho.....
@chuckhelson37446 сағат бұрын
I think everyone of the Leafs were stifled by set plays by Keefe, for too long. A more free flowing system would help all of them and find some magic by allowing some individuality on the Offence , while maintaining a tight defence.

The Leafs NEVER should have acquired John Tavares ... doing so put a HUGE kibosh on a masterful rebuilding process that the Hockey Gods favored, created a salary cap juggernaut and cost the franchise a Stanley Cup victory.

If they aren’t looking to improve up the middle and on D and goalie, they are wasting their time. Plus Stamkos took one look at TO 8 years ago and ran the other way faster than a cheetah. Why would that change now? Laughable.
